Michael Rood's "The Jonah Code" is now on Youtube.

If you click the above image, it will take you to the first video in this series. They have been split into about thirty 10 minute segments.

I will most likely be referencing some of his materials at a later time, but for now you can watch this entire series online.

Google this guy's name. I did a few days ago and although I can't recall what I read about him, I vaguely remember that it was not favorable at all.

This guy is new to me, but I did watch the five hours of video I listed above. Nothing in it was unscriptural, I assure you.

I have seen a few websites that speak negatively about him, but they all seem to be poor excuses for "Christian" ministries themselves.

If you do happen to find anything definite (ie: a video of him actually saying something unscriptural), please pass it along.

I have already viewed those sites and as I said earlier, find no fault with Michaels ministry.

I am not defending him, the simple fact is I need concrete evidence before writing him off.

I'll address a few of the statements from these sites:

"Rood is not trained, certified or recognized as a Rabbi, and his "ordination" by a cult called The Way International (TWI) required only minor instruction in an unaccredited TWI program."

My own belief is that everyone who accepts the Lordship of Jesus Christ has been ordained to preach the gospel. I do not believe in the necessity of a title given by man. I also believe that seminary is unnecessary. (1 John 2:27)

"His central teachings depart radically from the evangelical Christian faith"

What teachings? This seems fairly one-sided if they cannot give facts. Many of my beliefs are radically different than “evangelical Christian” teaching.

"disparage the Christian Church as full of deception and pagan practices"

I too, believe that “Christmas” and “Easter” come from pagan practice. I see no fault here.

"warned that America would be attacked and destroyed by Communist powers"

Although I don’t know if that will be the case; Is it outside the realm of possibility?

"devote attention to minute detail on areas of 'research' that have essentially little significance"

I have been devoting attention to minute details of scripture for about 12 hours a day for two months now. If doing research and studying the word is considered of “little significance”, I have to question the authors authenticity. (2 Timothy 2:15)

    "criticize celebration of Christmas"

Again, the December 25th date does stem from pagan practice. Even “evangelical Christians” admit that this is not an accurate date for Jesus’ birth.

The "theology online" site is a forum where just about anyone can say anything.

The first quote I came to is this:

"He denies that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, so he isn't a Christian believer. He actively seeks to turn Christians away from their faith"

I have now watched about 6 hours of teaching by Rood, and he very actively promotes Christ. He also encourages believers to study the Word, and where discrepancies arise in the KJV, to go to the original language to see what was being said.

Again - I watch cautiously any and all new teachers I run across. So far I have found no fault in what he is teaching.

If factual evidence of false doctrine does happen to come up, I would appreciate a heads up. Hearsay doesn't cut it for me.

Rood has hundreds of hours of teaching on DVD. It seems to me if he has taught something unscriptural, someone would have posted it by now.

    Hello,

I watched all 11 videos today, wrecked my whole morning! I did look at his website and while I do like a lot of what he is saying (I am also not a fan of Rome), I think there are a couple of things that set off some red flags for me. He seems to really advocate Torah keeping, which Paul says was nailed to the cross. We now have the law written on our hearts and are free in Christ from the demands of the law. I know there are lots of Sabbath keeping demoninations, but, I do not see any proof in scripture that we in the Church are obliged to keep it. I do think there is a lot of good stuff in his teachings, though. Have you even looked at Ariel Ministries? He is also a Jewish Christian that I have been studying. Thanks for posting this link to the vidoes, I may check out the rest. BTW, I am really enjoying your blog:)

I didn't hear him say anything about keeping the law. Maybe I missed that somewhere. If he did, I agree with you in that he is wrong on that point.

I noticed today that the final 2 DVD's in that series have been uploaded to youtube.

I guess I'll be busy for the rest of the day!

I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the blog. I just hope I can continue to come up with something everyone will find of interest.

Somehow, I don't think that will be a problem - things seem to be moving at a very rapid speed in these last days.

And yes, I am familiar with Arel Ministries. I have Fruchtenbaum's book "Footsteps of The Messiah".
He is an excellent teacher. I don't agree with EVERYTHING he says, but that goes for anyone.

The law stuff I saw was on his website in the FAQs, he was going into a lot of detail about the Sabbath. I do have to admit, though, I just glanced at it, so I may not have understood all of what he was saying. Things are moving FAST...I don't think we have much time left before the 70th week starts!

I have a question: If we have the law written on our hearts, as you claim, then how can we help from keeping the law as he teaches? Paul did not say that we are free from the law, he said we are free from the curse of breaking the law (torah). There is a difference, for the keeping of the law only brings blessings, but the breaking of it brings curses and since all have broken the law, they should be cursed; however in Yeshua the Messiah (Jesus) we are freed from the curse that comes when we were not keeping the law before it was written on our hearts. :)

Galatians 3:23-25 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster [to bring us] unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

    Ephesians 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, [even] the law of commandments [contained] in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, [so] making peace;

James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one [point], he is guilty of all.

Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Romans 7:6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not [in] the oldness of the letter.

I believe the common theme here is that we no longer need to worry about living by some formula, but to follow the true teachings of Christ, and by that we will fulfill what the law was pointing to, and that is Christ and His kingdom.

  10. Anonymous On June 11, 2009 at 1:18 PM

    Taken in context:

Gal 3:12-13 The law is not of faith, but, "The man who does them will live by them."
Messiah redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree,"

    What else does James say?

Jam 2:14-20 "What good is it, my brothers, if a man says he has faith, but has no works? Can that faith save him?
And if a brother or sister is naked and in lack of daily food,
and one of you tells them, "Go in shalom, be warmed and filled;" and yet you didn't give them the things the body needs, what good is it?
Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead in itself.
Yes, a man will say, "You have faith, and I have works." Show me your faith from your works, and I by my works will show you my faith.
You believe that God is one. You do well. The demons also believe, and shudder.
But do you want to know, vain man, that faith apart from works is dead?"

--you see, Yeshua did not come to free us from Torah, but to redeem us from sin, and to call us unto repentance from sin. So then one must ask, what is sin? Sin is transgression of the commandments of the Almighty. When one turns from sin, they repent, and walk in the path of the Almighty, which is Torah. Even Peter said that Paul's teachings were confusing because there is the Torah of YHWH contained in the commandments, and there is the sacrificial laws. We have no need for the sacrifice of bulls and goats, since Yeshua is our sacrifice. That does not suffice to say that we can commit murder, lie, cheat, steal, or even change the sabbath, or forget his eternal name.

If Yeshua kept the law, and He came to show us the Way, then why would the law have been "nailed to the cross"? Utter foolishness which has been perpetuated by the anti-Semitic spirit rampant in the "church" since the beginning. Yeshua did not come to start another religion. He came to show us how to live as God intends for us to live. Think about that as you chew on your pig bacon this morning.

    Wake up!

And I'll be enjoying my bacon, thanks very much...

This is a very old questions. Should Christians keep the law. This was answered by the apostles. Acts chapter 15:7-29.

I warn all those that feel that they must keep the law. You are making the gift of Jesus' death null and void and unless you keep the law fully, not failing in a single point, you can be lost.

I cannot understand why anyone who loves the Lord would feel compelled to follow a man who repeatedly attacks the Christian body in order to elevate himself. Michael Rood cannot help but resort to name calling. If he were spiritually filled and called to teach he would have no heart for such tactics. I look back favorably to images of generations of my family going to church and learning the word of God and would never think of attacking their relationship with God. But Michael Rood in every one of his newsletters, books and videos calls them pagan, baal worshipers, attending religious minefields and denominational cesspools. A few examples that he does not have the spirit of God within him.

Gentile Christianity has done exactly what the Gospels prophesied they would do. The Jews delivered the "Body of Christ" over to them and THEY mock, scourge and crucify Him (afresh). Michael Rood is perfectly correct in what he says about this. His reference to Paul's warning to the Gentiles to not become high-minded but to fear in Romans 11 is extremely appropriate. Christian's are very high-minded and do not humbly consider the truth of their mockery of Christ.

Hi, I just read the above posts, and have some questions based on some of the comments.
It was stated that Michael Rood advocates the keeping of Torah.
The Torah is the instructions God gave to His people. There are moral laws and ceremonial/sacrificial laws.
    Is His moral law removed?
If so, then why does the New Covenant reconfirm the moral law of God?
So if those laws are done away, why does the Messiah, Paul, and Jhon etc. all appeal to what the Torah says to back up New Testament teaching?
    What is Sin?
Is it the transgression of the law?
Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
    1 John 3:4 (KJV)
If the Torah is "done away" and this somehow means that we don't have to keep any law, then is there such thing as sin anymore?
Are you able to define any sin, without it somehow connecting to something taught in the Torah?
    see 1 Tim 1:8-11 and
    Romans 7:7 (KJV)

What did Paul mean when he said
" Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law."?
    Romans 3:31 (KJV)
It was mentioned that the promise of the new covenant would be that God would write the law on our hearts.
Please tell me. When God said this in Jeremiah 31 " But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people."
can there be any doubt that the promise of the new covenant reconfirmed the writing of the Law on the hearts of every believer?
If the Law is done away, what is He writing upon their hearts.
Could it be that the superiority of the new covenant is not that the Law is removed, but that God has changed the LOCATION of where HE wrote it? From being on the outside of man, to being on the inside of man. From tables of stone to the fleshly tablets of the heart.

It was stated that "the Law" was nailed to the Cross. I looked for that but couldn;t find it.
The only thing thing I found was this,
" And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross
    Col 2:13-14 (KJV)
I looked up the Greek words here for ordinances and handwriting. The word used for ordinances is "dogma" not "Nomos" which is the usual word used when talking about the Torah. Dogma has to do with the commandments of men. The words "handwriting of ordinances" refers to a legal bond, and was used in Greek courts for the legal document that listed a condemned man's record of crime, and his judgement.
It makes much more sense that vs 13 says we are forgiven of all our tresspasses, and then goes on to say that the legal record of these sins and their penalty is removed, having been "nailed to the Cross". It is not the Torah (GR. Nomos) that is nailed to the Cross, it is our transgressions of Torah that is nailed to the Cross. It is the "Dogmas" of men that are contrary to us, that are nailed to the cross.

Which words of God are not moral ones?

There is a lot of grace for ignorance, shallow understanding, and those who have been deceived by others ...but it if the perfectly Holy ultimate authority gives a commandment and one of His supposed devoted followers rebels willingly against His command, that person may be deluded as to where his loyalty really abides.

It is a well established fact that Christmas and Easter are indeed pagan.they were brought into the church when a sun worshipping Roman emperor named Constantine (who worshipped the sun God mitral) faked his conversion and entered into the early church(321ad after that the Roman empire disintegrated and the Roman church emerged with the bishop of Rome(now the pope) not only as head of the church but also as head of state.that is where Sunday worship began also.Folk need to read and cease listening to pulpit pounding, noise making preachers who knowingly misleads their congregation.no law was nailed to any cross the bible is filled with admonitions to live in obedience to God's commandments (and this includes yummy the acknowledgement and observance/keeping of the seventh day sabbath.matter fact keeping of the commandments is mankind's passport into heaven read (revelation 22.14)that is the last blessing propounced upon mankind.so those of us who think we can do as we please because Christ died had better think again read Mark 7:7
