Days Shortened

While reading Straub's new book "Changed", I ran across a concept I found pretty intriguing.

Revelation 11:2 - But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty [and] two months.

Revelation 13:5 - And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty [and] two months.

Revelation 12:14 - And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

All three of these verses mention a 3 1/2 year period of "Great Tribulation".

Then we have this:

Daniel 12:7 - And I heard the man clothed in linen, which [was] upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that [it shall be] for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these [things] shall be finished.

The Angel (or Christ), swears by him who lives forever that the time will be 3 1/2 years. If Christ has spoken it, then it cannot change. It must be carried out just as prophecied over and over in scripture.

But we run into a question with this verse:

Mark 13:20 - And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.

I have heard many preachers say that the 3 1/2 years will not actually be 3 1/2 years because it will be shortened. But is that what it actually says?
In both Matthew 24 and Mark 13, it says the days will be shortened; Not the length of the time of trial.

Is there scripture that could confirm this?

Revelation 8:12 - And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.

According to Straub, the length of the day will be shortened by a third, and the length of the night by a third. If we are to remove two thirds of our day, it would leave us with an eight hour day.

Amos 8:9 - And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord GOD, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day:

Again, confirming a possibility that the actual length of the day will be shortened.

The only way I'm aware of for the day to consist of 8 hours, would be for the rotation of the earth to be affected.

Luke 21:25 - And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

Isaiah 13:13 - Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.

Isaiah 24:1 - Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof.

Isaiah 24:20 - The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.

With only a few hours of sunlight each day, and an extremely short night, it would certainly cause much distress and great perplexity.

If something could cause the rotation of the earth to be sped up, that same something could also cause the earth to move from it's current location.

Revelation 16:8 - And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.

Although the total amount of time will still consist of 42 months, they will go by much more quickly if the day itself is only eight hours long.

I read a new book today and it was magnificent!

I actually read a lot of Christian books, both old and new, and it's rare for me to find one that not only teaches sound doctrine, but does so in an easy to understand fashion and also introduces me to a concept here and there that I'm not familiar with.

This book fits the bill.
The title is "Changed" by Steven Straub.

It is the authors explanation of his Post-Tribulation beliefs, and I not only highly recommend it, but would encourage any believer to give it a chance, regardless of your eschatological views.

From King James to Antichrist

In 1605, there was an assassination attempt on King James (The Gunpowder Treason Plot).

King James, of course is the one who authorized the translation of the bible into the common English language.

Among the conspirators were Guy Fawkes, who many may now be familiar with due to the movie “V for Vendetta”, and another man by the name of Thomas Percy.

If the plot had been successful, there is no telling how long it would have been before we had a good English translation of the bible that could be widely distributed.

When the descendants of Thomas Percy moved to America, they changed their last name to Pierce so as not to be associated with this past.

One of those descendants was Pauline Pierce. Pauline had a friend by the name of Nellie O'Hara. O’Hara met a man by the name of Frank Harris who was a famous author and friends of Aleister Crowley. Nellie and Harris lived as man and wife (although they never officially married).

If you are familiar with Crowley, you know he was famous for his “sex magick rituals”, which is nothing more than devil worship during an orgy. (sorry for putting it so bluntly)

In 1924, Pauline Pierce, Nellie O’Hara and Frank Harris were visiting France. Aleister Crowley (who is friends with Harris) is also in France. There is no proof the two groups ever met at this time, but nine months later, Pauline gave birth to a girl named Barbara Pierce. Although she was married at the time, Pauline’s husband did not travel with them to France.

There is some speculation (without proof of course), that Barbara was the result of this supposed connection with Crowley.

Now moving beyond speculation, Crowley also had a friend by the name of Jack Parsons.

Parsons called himself The Antichrist when he performed Aleister Crowley’s Thelemic rituals to create a new sort of human being that would finally destroy Christianity.

He hosted parties with guests including Robert Heinlein, Ray Bradbury, and L. Ron Hubbard. Crowley called Hubbard “Ron the seer”.
Jack was a cofounder of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (Jack Parsons Lab) and his innovations in rocketry made our space program a reality. He died officially on June 17, 1952 as the result of a chemical explosion in his laboratory. His wife, Marjorie Cameron, arrived after the explosion but before the ambulance had left. The attendants would not let her ride in the ambulance nor was she allowed to see him in the hospital. What is most outrageous is that the police violated standard procedure when they omitted asking her to identify the body. She was Jack's next of kin as his mother was declared dead from suicide after hearing the report that Jack had died. Neither Cameron nor George Frey, who took care of Jack's cremation, saw the actual dead body. Further, the newspaper accounts are filled with suspicious characters and accounts. The death of Virginia Parsons, Jack's mother, had equally bizarre circumstances surrounding it.

Parsons and Crowley were also good friends with Werner Von Braun. Von Braun was the head of Hitler’s rocket program, and after the war, came to the United States to work with NASA. (See Operation Paperclip)

And to add another connection, George H.W. Bush’s Father was Prescott Bush. Prescott helped finance Hitler’s rise to power.

Parsons, Crowley and Werner von Braun travelled to Tibet, Egypt, Iraq and Afghanistan in search of a “stargate” or portal which would allow them to enter the fourth dimension.

Now take a look at the Hebrew word “Nasa”:

נָשָׂא Nasa – To be lifted up, To lift oneself up, to carry

Isaiah 14:13 - For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

Isaiah 13:2-6 (LXX) On a mountain in the plain raise a signal; raise up your voice to them; do not fear; encourage them with your hand; open the gates, you rulers. It is I who instruct, and I lead them; (they have been consecrated for this task) and it is I who summon them. Giants come to fulfill my wrath, at the same time rejoicing and reviling. A voice of many nations on the mountains like that of many nations! A voice of kings and of nations gathered together! The Lord Sabaoth has commanded a heavily armed nation to come from a distant land, from the utmost foundation of heaven to destroy the whole world. Wail for the day of the Lord is near and a destruction will come from God!

Psalm 78:49 - He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, by sending evil angels among them.

Isaiah 10:3 - And what will ye do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation [which] shall come from far? to whom will ye flee for help? and where will ye leave your glory?

NOW we’re beginning to see a clearer picture. The destruction of Christianity and the opening of portals to allow the entrance to unworldly entities has been a long term goal. This cannot be planned for such an extended period by humans alone.

Ephesians 6:12 - For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places].

Why is Nasa and JPL so closely tied with those who tried to destroy the translation of the Christian bible, and those who killed millions of Jews, and are known to be occultists?

Daniel talks about the fourth kingdom that will attempt to rule the world:

Daniel 7:23 - Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.

Who or what is this “Beast”?

Revelation 6:3 - And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.

In Revelation, the Angels are referred to as “beasts”. This beast (and his armies) are none other than the fallen angels!

Remember what happened in Genesis 6:4?
Genesis 6:4 - There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare [children] to them, the same [became] mighty men which [were] of old, men of renown.

This is why the earth was destroyed.

Genesis 6:9 - These [are] the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man [and] perfect in his generations, [and] Noah walked with God.

Noah was perfect in his generations (His bloodline had not been defiled by the earth visitors)

Luke 17:26 - And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.

Jesus said the same thing that was happening in Noah’s day would be happening prior to His return.

Daniel 2:43 - And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.

Again, Daniel confirms that “They” will mingle their seed with the seed of men. But there seems to be a problem. They shall not cleave one to another.

Revelation 16:2 - And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and [upon] them which worshipped his image.

Those that mingle with the beast (receive his mark) do not cleave. They begin to have noisome and grievous sores.
I believe the mark is somehow related to DNA from these “fallen ones”. We may be offered their DNA to "become gods" like them. (Just as he told Eve in Genesis 3:5)

Genesis 10:8 - And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.

Nimrod BEGAN to be a “mighty one”. This word is “Gibborim” in the Hebrew and is a type of Nephilim. Somehow, Nimrod was not a Gibborim, but did start to change into one.

This is what many in the newage are preaching now….Our “change” is coming, or our “next step in evolution”, and many of them believe our “space brothers” are going to help us achieve this step.

What does God say about these visitors that will be coming?

Habakkuk 1:5,8 - Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for I will work a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though it be told you…… Their horses also are swifter than the leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves: and their horsemen shall spread themselves, and their horsemen shall come from far; they shall fly as the eagle that hasteth to eat.

Joel 2:1-9 Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for [it is] nigh at hand; A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, [even] to the years of many generations. A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land [is] as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them. The appearance of them [is] as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run. Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array. Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall gather blackness. They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks: Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path: and [when] they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded. They shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall, they shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows like a thief.

Revelation 9:7-11 And the shapes of the locusts [were] like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads [were] as it were crowns like gold, and their faces [were] as the faces of men. And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as [the teeth] of lions. And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings [was] as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle. And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power [was] to hurt men five months. And they had a king over them, [which is] the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue [is] Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath [his] name Apollyon.

2 Thessalonians 2:11 - And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

Matthew 24:23,24 - Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here [is] Christ, or there; believe [it] not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if [it were] possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

I’ve tried to tie all this in as briefly as possible and still make a concise point. For brevities sake, I won’t go into more detail at this time. Bottom line is this:

I believe a strong delusion is coming.
I believe an army of evil angels will fulfill the wrath of God.
I also believe there will be a leader to this army who actually claims to be God.

I believe there has been a bloodline since the days of Adam and of Noah that have ruled this planet without our best intentions in mind, but according to their own agenda.

I also believe that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. This means pray up, seek Him, and endure to the end and you shall be saved!

Genesis 12:3 - And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

1. October 30, 1991: The Perfect Storm – As President George H. W. Bush is opening the Madrid (Spain) Conference to consider “land for peace” and Israel’s Middle East role, the “perfect storm” develops in the North Atlantic, creating the largest waves ever recorded in that region. The storm travels 1000 miles from “east to west” instead of the normal “west to east” pattern and crashes into the New England Coast. Thirty-five foot waves pound Kennebunkport,Maine, the summer home of the Bush family.

2. August 23, 1992: Hurricane Andrew – When the Madrid Conference moves to Washington DC and the peace talks resume, Hurricane Andrew, the worst natural disaster ever to hit America, comes ashore and produces an estimated $30 billion in damage and leaving 180,000 homeless in Florida.

3. January 16, 1994: Northridge Earthquake—President Bill Clinton meets with Syria’s President Hafez el-Assad in Geneva. They talk about a peace agreement with Israel that includes giving up the Golan Heights. Within 24 hours, a powerful 6.9 earthquake rocks Southern California, This quake, centered in Northridge, becomes the second most destructive natural disaster to hit the United States, behind Hurricane Andrew.

4. January 21, 1998: Lewinsky Scandal – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu meets with President Clinton at the White House and is coldly received. Clinton and Secretary of State Madeleine Albright refuse to have lunch with him. Shortly afterwards on that day, the Monica Lewinsky scandal breaks into the mass media and begins to occupy a major portion of Clinton’s time.

5. September 28, 1998: Hurricane George – As Secretary of State Albright works on the final details of an agreement in which Israel would give up 13 percent of the West Bank, Hurricane George slams into the United States Gulf Coast with 110 mph winds and gusts up to 175 mph. The hurricane hits the coast and is stalled there. On September 28, Clinton meets with Yasser Arafat and Netanyahu at the White House to finalize this land deal. Later, Arafat addresses the United Nations about declaring an independent Palestinian state by May 1999, as Hurricane George pounds the Gulf Coast, causing $1 billion in damage. At the exact time that Arafat departs the country, the storm begins to dissipate.

6. October 15-22, 1998: Texas Flooded – On October 15, 1998, Arafat and Netanyahu meet at the Wye River Plantation in Maryland. The talks are scheduled to last five days with the focus on Israel giving up the aforementioned 13 percent of the West Bank. The talks are extended and conclude on October 23. On October 17, awesome rains and tornadoes hit southern Texas. The San Antonio area is deluged with rain. The rain and flooding in Texas continue until October 22 and then subside. The floods ravage 25 percent of Texas and leave over one billion dollars in damage. On October 21, Clinton declares this section of Texas a major disaster area.

7. November 30, 1998: Market Capitalization Evaporates – Arafat comes to Washington again to meet with President Clinton to raise money for a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as the capitol. A total of 42 other nations were represented in Washington. All the nations agreed to give Arafat $3 billion in aid. Clinton promised $400 million, and the European nations $1.7 billion. On the same day, the Dow Jones average drops 216 points, and on December 1, the European Market had its third worst day in history. Hundreds of billions of market capitalization were wiped out in the U.S. and Europe.

8. December 12, 1998: Clinton is Impeached – As Clinton lands in the Palestinian-controlled section of Israel to discuss the “land for peace” process, the House of Representatives votes four articles of impeachment against him.

9. May 3, 1999: The Powerful Super Tornado – On the day that Yasser Arafat is scheduled to declare a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as the capital, the most powerful tornado storm system ever to hit the United States sweeps across Oklahoma and Kansas. The winds are clocked at 316 mph the fastest wind speed ever recorded. The declaration is postponed to December 1999 at the request of President Clinton, whose letter to Arafat encourages him in his “aspirations for his own land.” He also writes that the Palestinians have a right to “determine their own future on their own land” and that they deserve to “live free, today, tomorrow and forever.”

10. Week of October 11, 1999: Hurricane, Earthquake and Dow Collapse – As Jewish settlers in 15 West Bank settlements are evicted from covenant land, the Dow-Jones financial averages lose 5.7 percent in the worst week since October 1989. On October 15 the Dow lost 266 points, and a hurricane slammed into North Carolina. On the next morning, October 16, a magnitude 7.1 earthquake rocked the southwest in the fifth most powerful earthquake in 20th Century. The earthquake was centered in the California desert and did little damage but was felt in three states.

11. August 29, 2005. Hurricane Katrina. One week before Katrina made landfall, Israel carried out the evacuation of 9,500 residents from Gush Katif and four Samaria communities. Residents were forced from their homes by Israeli troops, some dragged away kicking and screaming and placed on buses that took them from the area. The Gaza evacuation had been supported and even urged upon Israel by the US. Estimated to have caused damages in excess of $100 billion Katrina was one of the most expensive natural disasters in US history

12. Sept. 1, 2010 US Pres. Obama welcomed PM Netanyahu (Israel) Pres. Abbas (Palestinians) Pres. Mubarak (Egypt) and King Abdullah (Jordan) to the White House, having invited them all to dinner on the eve of the first direct negotiations between the Israelis and Palestinians in nearly two years. As the talks began, Hurricane Earl (a category 3 storm) was headed for North Carolina where mandatory evacuation orders were issued in some coastal areas. Hurricane warnings were established all the way up the East coast to Cape Cod. Although many experts felt the timing was wrong, and in fact no tangible results came from the talks, over $40 million in damages were attributed to hurricane Earl.

13. May 19, 2011: Obama told an audience at the State Department that the borders of a “sovereign, non-militarized” Palestinian state “should be based on 1967 lines with mutually agreed swaps.”
May 22, 2011: More than 50 tornadoes span from Oklahoma to Wisconsin. Fire chief Mitch Randles of Joplin, Missouri says “It cut the city in half”. 75 percent of Joplin was destroyed, leaving more than 125 dead. It is the single most devastating tornado in U.S. history.

When Is The Rapture?

Revelation 20:4,5 - And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and [I saw] the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received [his] mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This [is] the first resurrection.

When is the first resurrection? It comes at the end of the tribulation. You can't have a resurrection prior to the first resurrection. After the dead are raised, then we are changed. (For we shall not precede those who sleep)

Matthew 24:29-31 - Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Once again, after the tribulation, Jesus gathers His elect.

II Thessalonians 2:1-4 - Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and [by] our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day shall not come], except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

And yet again, this gathering does not take place until Antichrist is revealed and sits in the temple of God.
The coming of our Lord and our gathering (rapture) to Him is the same event.

1 Corinthians 15:51,52 - Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Corinthians says this "Mystery" is when we are all changed.

Revelation 10:7 - But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

Revelation says this "Mystery" takes place as the seventh angel begins to sound the trumpet.

What did the early church fathers teach in regard to the rapture?

Irenaeus (140-202AD) (Against Heresies V, XXVI, 1)
“And they shall lay Babylon waste, and burn her with fire, and shall give their kingdom to the beast, and put the church to flight. After that they shall be destroyed by the coming of our Lord."

Didache (50-100AD), Treatise on the Apostles by Early Church Fathers
"then shall appear the world-deceiver as Son of God, and shall do signs and wonders, and the earth shall be delivered into his hands...but they that endure in their faith shall be saved from under the curse itself. And then shall appear the signs of the truth; first, the sign of an out-spreading in heaven; then the sign of the sound of the trumpet; and the third, the resurrection of the dead; yet not of all, but as it is said: The Lord shall come and all His saints with Him. Then shall the world see the Lord coming upon the clouds of heaven."

In addressing The Church about Revelation, “It will not be easy and it will be distinguished by trials, tribulations, and antagonisms…Stay faithful to the point of death and I will give you a crown of life.”

“And when the three and a half years have been completed, the time of the Antichrist, through which he will have seduced the world, after the resurrection of the two prophets…the sign of the Son of Man…the Lord shall appear with great power…as the angelic trumpet precedes him…Arise, O sleeping ones, arise, meet Christ, because the hour of judgment has come!..Then Christ has come and the enemy thrown into confusion…And he will be bound and shall be plunged into the abyss.”

Hatred of the brethren makes room next for Antichrist; for the devil prepares beforehand the divisions among the people, that he who is to come may be acceptable to them. But God forbid that any of Christ’s servants here, or elsewhere, should run over to the enemy!..The Church now charges thee before the Living God; she declares to thee the things concerning Antichrist before they arrive. Whether they will happen in thy time we know not, or whether they will happen after thee we know not; but it is well that, knowing these things, thou shouldest make thyself secure beforehand”.

What did Christ teach regarding the Rapture?

Luke 21:8 - And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many will come in my name saying that I am Messiah, and that the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them!

Scripture teaches that there are false prophets in the church and they may speak the truth in many areas. They may be completely sincere ministers and teachers, but they still mislead. There is however a very specific warning that Christ focuses on here. Those who are going to be misleading the church in the end times will proclaim that Jesus is the Messiah and that the time (of His return) draweth near. The "time draweth near" is referring to his promised return for them, just as it does in Matthew 24.

The words for "Draweth near" in the Greek (sunelauno eggidzo) means to be near at hand, and paints the picture that the time of His return is intently imminent, or that it could happen at any moment. Jesus warned His followers, when those who claim to be speaking in the name of Jesus say that his return is imminent, (could happen at any moment) do not follow them.

There are prerequisites to His return, as He proceeds to clarify. He said very boldly that when teachers in the church at the end of the age say that the return of Christ is imminent, do not go after them; Do not follow their teachings. He then tells them that many things will happen that will terrify most people, but that even then, the end is not imminent. He goes on to describe the days of Satan's vengeance that will cause Christ’s followers to be persecuted and killed. He speaks further of the signs in the sun, moon, and stars; The shaking of the powers of the heavens, and in verse 27 He says that after the powers of the heaven are shaken, THEN they will see Him coming in power and great glory.

This “any moment rapture” teaching will cause so-called believers to hate each other and betray each other to the death.

Matthew 24:10 - And then shall many be offended and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

WHY? What terrible traps have been laid for the Christian church?

Matthew 24:24 - For there shall arise false Messiahs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. BEHOLD, I HAVE TOLD YOU BEFORE.

Christ has told us beforehand - He has forewarned us -

Matthew 24:26 - If they shall say unto you, behold! He is in the secret chambers; (tameion) Believe it not!

What is "Tameion"?

Matthew 6:5-6 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Veryily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, (tameion) and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret, and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

Tameion shows us that which is done deliberately in secret so as not to be seen openly. It is an intentional secret for the purpose of concealing the activity from those who could see if it were done openly.

Tameion can be translated as closet, storehouse, storeroom, inner chamber, or any place that can obscure the actions of one from being observed. Jesus is not saying that false prophets will be saying that He can be found behind a sack of flour or behind your favorite suit in the closet; The false teaching is that He will return to gather us in a secret rapture, unseen by the world.

Luke 12:2,3 - For there is nothing covered that shall not be revealed; neither hid that shall not be known. Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets (tameion) shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.

If false prophets (who may be honest sincere Christians) say "Look, he will return at any time to gather his church in secret", Do not believe it! Christ has forewarned us.

Matthew 24:3 - Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and the end of the age? and Jesus answered "Take heed that no man deceive you!"

Jeremiah 14:14,15 - Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart. Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that prophesy in my name, and I sent them not, yet they say, Sword and famine shall not be in this land; By sword and famine shall those prophets be consumed.

Common Arguments:

There are some "cute-sie" little statements in the pre-trib camp such as "Jesus wouldn't beat up his bride".

While it sounds like a nice condemning argument, it has nothing to do with scripture. Post trib believers never said anything about Christ beating up His bride.

When the plagues of Egypt hit, God's people were not affected.

1 - First Thessalonians 5:9 says we are not appointed to wrath.

According to scripture, when is the wrath?
Revelation 11:18 - The nations were angry; and your wrath has come. The time has come for judging the dead, and for rewarding your servants the prophets and your saints and those who reverence your name, both small and great- and for destroying those who destroy the earth.

In Revelation 6:10,11 at the 5th seal, the martyrs in Heaven ask God when He will judge those on the earth. The Lord responds that they must wait a little while longer.
The wrath of God is also referred to as “The Day of The Lord”.

Acts 2:20 - The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord come:

Rev 6:12,17 - And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood….For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

According to scripture (Revelation 12:12), the mid-point of the final seven years begins the wrath of Satan. (Not the wrath of God)

2 - The Rapture and second coming are two different events.

Acts 3:20,21 - Then wonderful times of refreshment will come from the presence of the Lord, and he will send Jesus your Messiah to you again. For he must remain in heaven until the time for the final restoration of all things, as God promised long ago through his prophets.

Hebrews 9:28 - So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
Psalm 110:1 - The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. (Matt. 22:44, Mark 12:36, Luke 20:42, Acts 2:34, Hebrews 1:13)

3 - The tribulation is for unbelievers including Jews, not Christians.

Romans 10:12 - For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

Ephesians 2:14 - For Christ himself has made peace between us Jews and you Gentiles by making us all one people.

Galatians 3:28 - There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

Mark 13:37 - And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

Romans 11:7 - What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded

4 - Doesn’t Revelation 19:14 say that we return with Christ on horses to battle with Him?

Matthew 13:41 - The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

II Thessalonians 1:7,8 - And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Mark 8:38 - Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

5- What about imminence?

The disciples were told to tarry in Jerusalem until Holy Spirit came. They did not expect an “any moment rapture”; They expected Holy Spirit to come. Jesus appeared to Paul and told him that he would preach in Rome. Did Paul expect to preach in Rome, or did he expect to be raptured any minute now? Jesus told Peter that he would die an old man. Did Peter expect to die of old age like Jesus said, or be raptured? Jesus said the church in Smyrna would suffer persecution ten days. From the time Christ ascended until the end of the first century, no one expected a rapture.

6 - The Church isn’t mentioned after Revelation 4 because it was raptured.

If we use the same argument, we would have to exclude Mark, Luke, John, Second Peter, First and Second John, and Jude as well, because the "church" isn't mentioned at all in those books.

Not only is the American dollar headed for deep trouble but so are all other world currencies. I see total economic confusion striking Europe first and then affecting Japan, the United States, Canada and all other nations shortly thereafter.

It is not really a depression I see coming- but a recession of such magnitude that it will affect the lifestyle of nearly every wage earner in America and around the world. Countries that now control huge amount of Western currency are going to be in a very deep trouble also. Arab countries will especially be hurt.
I believe we are going to witness the bankruptcies of some of this nation’s major and most popular corporations. I see tremendous difficulty arising for credit corporations. There are going to be many people unable to pay off their heavy obligations to major credit card companies causing near-chaos.

Thousand of small businesses will also be forced into bankruptcies. Three and possibly four of the major religious denominations will be forced to operate with skeleton organization due to a lack of funds. More than a few churches are going to go bankrupt and a number of independent missionary societies and church organizations are going to have to pull back. All but a few of the radio and television ministries will have to be abandoned.

The President of the United States will make one and possibly two, national radio and TV appearances to reassure the nation that all is well and that the best of economic times is just ahead. It will not work. People will distrust these statements ad their fears will lead to revolution at the polls.

The auto industry is going to be hurt badly. Makers of recreational vehicles are going to get hit very hard. Appliance inventories will pile up and sales will fall off drastically.
Unions will face new pressures not to strike. No longer will workers be able to afford to be out of work for even one week. The government is going to take a hard line against strikes and striking union members will no longer be able to get food stamps and other benefits once allowed.
There will develop a call for revamping all world monetary systems into one uniform system. And even though the dollar will appear to be gaining strength just before the coming major recession, a new crisis will develop that will shake the entire financial world. It will be years before faith in the American dollar will be restored.

The United States is going to experience in the not-too-distant future the most tragic earthquakes in its history. One day soon this nation will be reeling under the impact of the biggest news story of modern times. It will be coverage of the biggest most disastrous earthquake in history.

It will cause widespread panic and fear, Without a doubt, it will become one of the most completely reported earthquake ever. Television networks will suspend all programming and carry all day coverage.

Another earthquake , possibly in Japan may precede the one that I see coming here. There is not the slightest doubt in my mind about this forthcoming massive earthquake in our continent.

I am not at all convinced that this earthquake will take place in California. In fact, I believe it is going to take place where it is least expected. This terrible earthquake may happen in an area that not known as an earthquake belt. It will be so high on the Richter scale that it will trigger two other major earthquakes.

Adam and Eve were created from the dust of the earth, but God took them from the earth and placed them in Paradise; A place in the spiritual realm. When Man fell, he was taken from paradise, and placed on the earth.

Luke 23:43 - And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

II Corinthians 12:4 - How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.

Revelation 2:7 - He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

Throughout the account of Genesis, God MADE (Asah) the firmament, God MADE the luminaries, God MADE the beast of the earth. “Asah” means to fashion something out of nothing.

Hebrews 11:3 - Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

However, after God “Asah” all these things, He CREATED (Bara) Man.

“Bara” means to cut, shape and form something out of something that already exists.

Genesis 1:27 - So God created man in his [own] image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Genesis 2:7 - And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Adam already had a body, but it was a glorified one. It was as scripture teaches “In the image and likeness of God.”

Genesis 2:23 - And Adam said, This [is] now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

Notice that Adam did not mention blood, because there was none!

Leviticus 17:11 - For the life of the flesh [is] in the blood

Luke 24:39 - Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.

Again, Blood is not mentioned. Jesus was not merely a spirit, but had a glorified body. A body of substance, which did not include blood. Blood is only necessary for the flesh.

Once man fell and was taken from Paradise, and placed on the earth, he was in need of earthly clothing; A covering for this world.

Genesis 3:21 - Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make (Asah) coats of skins, and clothed them.

Again, we see the word “Asah” which means to create something out of nothing.

A popular belief is that God took the skins of animals and clothed Adam, but for this to be true, scripture would have said “Bara”. Instead, God made a new type of covering for Adam (skin) which included blood.

I Corinthians 15:50 - Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

Flesh and Blood cannot enter the kingdom of God. You must have a glorified body, Spirit and soul.

Matthew 8:22 - But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.

The unsaved are considered dead. They do not have the life of God in them (Spirit of God).

Romans 8:11 - But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

Once His spirit dwells in you, it is that same spirit that will give life to your flesh when He returns. Not a life of corruptible flesh, but of a glorified, incorruptible body.

I Corinthians 15:52 - In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

I Corinthians 15:49 - And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

We now have a body of flesh and blood, but we will one day once again be in the image and likeness of our Lord who created us.

The flesh cannot inherit, but it is inherited. The bride cannot wed, she is wedded. When the bridegroom comes and takes her, the flesh cannot possess the kingdom of God by inheritance; but it can be taken for an inheritance into the kingdom of God.
The first life is given by breath, the second life is given by spirit.

In Genesis, Gods creation was blessed. In Revelation, it is cursed in the same order:

In Genesis 1:4, God separated the light from the darkness (The atmosphere of the earth, from outer space). In Revelation 8:7, Hail and fire mingled with blood are cast to the earth. (Rev. 12:4 & 9)

This “separation” of our atmosphere from the spirit realm will have been severed.

Genesis 1:8 - And God called the firmament Heaven.

Genesis 1:10 - And God called the dry [land] Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that [it was] good.
Revelation 8:8 - And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;
Revelation 8:10 - And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;

Genesis 1:16 - And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: [he made] the stars also.
Revelation 8:12 - And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.

Many of the readers of this blog believe in a Pre-Tribulation Rapture of the Church.
While I may agree with these brothers and sisters in Christ on 99% of all other doctrine, I cannot agree on a pre-trib view.

Those that have been following for any length of time are aware that I have spent literally thousands of hours pouring over every book, article, blog and commentary I can get my hands on that teaches ANY rapture view.

I wrote earlier about “Brother D” and his blog (It is a good site – I’m not condemning here) but I wanted to respond again today on one of his recent articles. Again, Brother D’s original comments are in Bold:

Psalm 32:6Therefore, let everyone who is godly pray to You in a time when You may be found; Surely in a flood of great waters they will not reach him.

7You are my hiding place; You preserve me from trouble;You surround me with songs of deliverance.

Surely in a flood of great waters they will not reach him? Luke 17:26 Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. 27People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.

Flood of great waters? As it was in the days of Noah? Flood will not reach him? Are you picking up on this?

You would have to be blind or willfully ignorant to not see how rich just these two sentences are in one Psalm in the bible. In a "flood" of great waters? They will not reach him? Hiding place? You preserve me from trouble? You surround me with songs of deliverance? Gosh, that sounds really "escapist" , doesn't it?

I would respond with a resounding YES! It does sound very “escapist”. And that is precisely what the Lord has promised. However, the “Harpazo” or “Rapture” is never mentioned here.

Just when is this “flood of great waters”?

Revelation 12:14-17 - And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

The “Time, times, and half a time” is the 42 month reign of Antichrist mentioned in Daniel 7:25 and 12:7.

The woman is the church who goes into a place of hiding (protected and fed by God) during this time. The antichrist then makes war with those who “keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ”. These are CHRISTIANS.

They are here on the earth at this time. For whatever reason, they did not go to a place of protection and were in the middle of a war with antichrist.

Perhaps they chose to stay and fight, maybe they didn’t want to leave their homes and friends (remember Lot’s wife), but scripture tells us the end result for those that do not leave is that many are killed, and the antichrist is mostly triumphant over them.

If we are going to use Old Testament to teach on the rapture, why not go to the oldest book in the bible and see what Job had to say about it:

Job 14:12-15 - So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens [be] no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep. O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me! If a man die, shall he live [again]? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come. You would call, and I would answer you; you would long for the work of your hands.

Job realized that once he died, his body would remain in the grave until the very end. He was appointed a set time where his body would come out of the grave and be changed! God would call, and Job would answer by coming out of the grave.

I Thessalonians 4:15-18 - For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words.

Again, we can go to the old testament book of Joel:
Joel 2:16 - Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.

This “Closet” refers to a place of hiding. When the Lord returns, the church then comes out of her place of protection and is gathered by Christ.

Yes, there is an escape, yes the Lord will protect His own. Everyone all throughout scripture that had troubles, trials and tribulations remained here protected by God through them.

Jesus Himself said:
John 17:15 - I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.

Immediately after the 70th week, the sixth seal takes place.
Since the fifth trumpet is five months in duration, that leaves no time for the trumpets and bowls after the 70th week. They take place at some point during that time.

Job was one of those prophets that understood that he would die and his body would not rise until the heavens departed like a scroll. He also understood that there was an appointed (or set) time for the resurrection and that his body would be changed.

Christ returns after the sixth seal. After the sixth trump, we read:

I won't take the time to go into all the detail here, but this is Christ's second coming. It says He lifted His hand to heaven and swore that this time period has run its course.

Daniel 12:7 - And I heard the man clothed in linen, which [was] upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that [it shall be] for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these [things] shall be finished.

So once the final 3 1/2 years are complete, Christ returns, gathers His elect, pours out His wrath at Armageddon, and we accompany Him to the earth, and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Many of the readers here are familiar with “Brother D” and his blog.
I have been a regular reader and enjoy his insight. One thing we don't agree on is rapture timing. He recently wrote a short post that I wanted to respond to, but comments are not open on his site so I will post my comments here.

Please understand the spirit in which this is written. I am not “arguing” with anyone, or attempting to “stir the pot”. I simply wanted to include an alternate understanding to what he has written.

His original wording is in bold, with my response following.

When did the flood come in Noah's day? After Noah and his family went into the ark.

When did fire and brimstone rain down on sodom? After Lot and his family left the city.

Correct. However, just as in every other story of tribulation in the old testament, no one left the tribulation, trials, or destruction. They were protected through it. (John 17:15)

Something else the Lord gave me about the pre-trib rapture. The pre-trib rapture is the only position on the rapture that conforms to the idea that we need not write to you of times and dates:

1 Thessalonians 5:1 ... Now, brothers, about times and dates we do not need to write to you

Incorrect. If we continue reading, we find WHY there was no need to write about times and dates:

1 Thessalonians 5:2,4 - For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

They knew perfectly when Christ would return. It’s even recorded when He returns “as a thief”.

Revelation 16:15,16 - Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed [is] he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

The unbelievers are gathered together at Armageddon, the believers are then gathered in the rapture, and the final wrath is poured out on the unbelieving world.

Matthew 13:30 - Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

Why do we not need to write about times and dates as believers in a pre-trib rapture? Because we are looking for our Lord to show up every single day, any single day

This idea of an “any moment rapture” is not found in scripture. The disciples were told to tarry in Jerusalem until Holy Spirit came. They did not expect an “any moment rapture”; They expected Holy Spirit to come. Jesus appeared to Paul and told him that he would preach in Rome. Jesus told Peter that he would die an old man. Jesus said the church in Smyrna would suffer persecution ten days. From the time Christ ascended until the end of the first century, no one expected a rapture.

The "other tribbers" preach a message of partial or no escape. The bible on the other hand clearly teaches that there is an escape from ALL coming (Luke 21:36). Luke 21:36 does not stand on its own, facts throughout the bible support the idea of "escape from all." Just as it was in the days of Noah and Lot, so shall it be in at the coming of the Son of man. Could he be any clearer? Noah, escaped ALL of the flood. Lot escaped ALL of the fire and brimstone, and some of us will escape ALL of what's about to happen. That's a 100% certified FACT straight from the Word of God.

I agree whole heartedly that some will be counted worthy to escape all. However, no one is ever promised a removal from the situation, but protection through it.

Again, I emphasize that there are other ways of understanding these scriptures, and this is how I understand them. I share these views in hopes that others will study on their own and ask the Lord to reveal to them the truth of His Word.

It was recently suggested to me that I read Peter Goodgame’s study entitled “Perfecting the pre-trib rapture”.

I have read Goodgame’s articles and book “Red Moon Rising”, and must admit that I agree wholeheartedly with his understanding of the rapture taking place around the time of the sixth seal.

Where I must part ways with His exegesis however, is in the sequence of events he has laid out in his study.

Goodgame stated: “Berner concludes, and I wholeheartedly agree, that the 70th Week of Daniel will probably not even begin until after the fourth Trumpet judgment of Revelation.”

With a rapture occurring at the sixth seal, and the 70th week beginning after the fourth trumpet, this would mean that prior to the rapture, the white horse has gone out to conquer, the red horse has taken peace from the earth, the black horse has brought famine to the world, the pale/green horse has introduced disease on a massive scale, Hail fire and blood have fallen on the earth, a mountain of fire falls in the sea and 1/3 of all sea life has died, the rivers of the world are made bitter and man cannot drink from them, and the sun, moon and stars are darkened by a third.

Whew!

That certainly sounds like a horrible time. I certainly see no reason to continue holding on to a “pre-trib” belief if all of this is going to take place prior to the rapture of the church.

At the fifth trumpet (Where Goodgame suggests the 70th week begins), the locusts are released to torment men for five months. Revelation 9:4 states “And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.”

Goodgame has suggested that the 144,000 are sealed after the rapture and the rapture takes place at the sixth seal. But the fifth trumpet is five months in duration (Rev. 9:5), followed by the gathering of the armies to Armageddon. I cannot reconcile a five month locust invasion, followed by the armies of the world taking six years and seven months to gather for Armageddon.

Matthew 24:29 says “Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:”

This can be seen during the events of the sixth seal. The sixth seal must take place “Immediately after the tribulation” just as Jesus said.

In Revelation 6:17, it says at the end of the sixth seal “For the great day of his wrath is come”.

According to I Thessalonians 5:9 “For God hath not appointed us to wrath”. So once the 70th week comes to a close, the sixth seal takes place, the 7th trumpet sounds, and the wrath of God begins.

How do we know the rapture takes place at this 7th trumpet?

Revelation 10:7 - But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

What is this mystery, and when was it declared?

I Corinthians 15:51 - Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed.

When the 7th trumpet sounds, the mystery of God (when we are all changed) is finished.

I Corinthians 15:52 - In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

There are no other “last trumps” in scripture. God is not the author of confusion.

So the dead are raised, anyone left alive will be changed, and will meet the Lord in the air.

Revelation 20:4 - And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and [I saw] the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received [his] mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

John explains that he sees those who were beheaded for not worshipping the beast, his image, or for taking his mark. They lived and reigned with Christ. There is no arguing that this describes Christians who were alive during the reign of antichrist.

Revelation 20:5 - But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This [is] the first resurrection.

Those that lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years took part in the FIRST resurrection. If this is the first resurrection, that means there were no resurrections prior to it. The first resurrection takes place after the antichrist shows up, enforces his mark, and makes war with the saints of God. (Dan.7:21, Rev.13:7)

Mark 13:14 - But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:

Saints of God, we will be here to see this!

Now back to the wrath of God that takes place after the sixth seal, seventh trump rapture:

Isaiah 13:9, Joel 2:1, and Zechariah 4:1 each make the statement that “The Day of the Lord Cometh” and immediately goes on to describe the battle of Armageddon. Zech. 14:7 and Isaiah 17:14 each state that Armageddon (The Wrath of God) will last one literal day.

Now back to Goodgame’s study.

He states: “The Pre-Wrath view crumbles in the face of Revelation 11:14, which clearly places the midpoint of the 70th Week three-and-a-half days prior to the end of the sixth Trumpet judgment.”

This statement is made with a misunderstanding of the timing of the two witnesses. IF the two witnesses are here during the first half of the 70th week, Goodgame is correct in this point. IF however, they are ministering during the last half of the 70th week, he would be incorrect on this point.

Instead of going into a detailed explanation on the timing of the two witnesses here, I would encourage you to read the first page of the chapter “Timing of Daniel’s 70th Week” in the study I have offered here.

In conclusion, I agree with Goodgame on the timing of the rapture being after the sixth seal is opened. I have recommended his book in the past and will continue to do so. It is a great study.

The difference comes not in the placement of the rapture, but in the chronology of events as laid out in Revelation.

One of the hardest things I have done was to leave the pre-trib camp. I knew that if I did, I would become an outcast to the very people whom I most needed to get my message out and wanted to reach. Yet, I also knew that God didn't reveal the information I had stumbled on to any of them. That being the case, I was willing to go outside the camp.

Today things are different. Many are using the information that we've been reporting. Most, however, usually for sincerely held doctrinal reasons, are unwilling to join us outside the camp. As a result, I believe the full implications of the events now occurring are being compromised. And, God's people continue sleeping in the dark.

Yet, that's the situation Jesus describes. In the time of His coming, Jesus says it will take a shout to wake us from our sleep (Matt. 25:6). But, as I see that day approaching, my concern is for the unprepared -- those who think they have oil enough to face what's coming, and they don't.

It's my belief, based on my understanding of the Bible and world events, we could soon find ourselves in the Great Tribulation. And, according to Jesus, at that time many of our shepherds may suddenly flee. If so, it will be up to us to spiritually fend for ourselves. And, for many weak believers, knowing the truth about the situation may be vital.

I had an email waiting this morning. It was from a friend who wanted to know how I saw the Great Tribulation fitting into the 70th week of Daniel. In other words, how do I see the events unfolding from my perspective outside the camp.

According to Jesus, the Great Tribulation will be a time of unprecedented persecution by the antichrist and his 10 kings. And, although the antichrist will be given authority to wage his war against God's people for 3 1/2 years, Jesus tells us -- for the sake of His elect -- He will cut short that 3 1/2 year period (Matt. 24:22).

When we factor in the related prophecies, and when we look at today's actual geopolitical situation, we see an amazing match. As far as the prophecies are concerned, if you recall, Jesus told the angel of one church, because, among other things, they have a little power, He has placed before them an open door that no one can close (Rev. 3:8) . He also told this church that they would be kept from the persecution of the antichrist (Rev. 3:10). In Daniel we read about an angel asking, "How long will it be until the end of these wonders?" And the answer is: "... it would be for a time, times, and half a time (3 1/3 years); and as soon as they finish shattering the power of the holy people, all these events will be completed (Daniel 12:6-7).

It's my belief, just as the antichrist is about to finish off the last pockets of God's people, that's when Jesus will cut short the antichrist's 3 1/2 year war and rapture His saints. And, in the remaining part of the 3 1/2 year period, that's when Jesus will pour out His wrath on the antichrist, the false prophet and their followers. This is also when mystery Babylon will be destroyed and Armageddon will occur.

Now, looking at things geopolitically, that's the picture I see forming. The US and the EU have entered into a strategic partnership in order to create a new international order out of the UN and NATO. Included in their plans is a reorganized UN that includes new religious, economic and enforcement elements. The target date for the new international system to be up and running is 2010. The idea is to first implement their security measures over the Euro-Mediterranean region in order to bring peace to the Middle East. If successful, the plan is to progressively extend it globally. Included in all this is the UN's Alliance of Civilizations, which I believe, could be the place from where the antichrist and false prophet wage their war against the saints.

As I was saying, when we factor in all the related prophecies, and when we look at today's geopolitical situation, I believe we may have a match. I also know that there are other prophecy teachers who see things very differently.

But, that's how things look from here -- outside the camp.

Pretrib Rapture - Out of Order

As world events seem to be becoming more violent, financially desperate, and lawless, and with the Earth groaning with increases in tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, and tsunamis, many may be wondering if the world they know is coming to an end. Different civilizations have different traditions and myths regarding the end of the world. The Mayans developed a calendar that ran for thousands of years and it culminates cataclysmically in 2012. Anyone who believes in some form of apocalypse knows that the earth is not going be a safe place during any such event. People will hope there is a magic button that will save them from end-time events so no disaster happens to them. In fact, there are many that think such a button actually exists.

In Christianity, a theory has arisen and gained popularity because it gives the last generation of Christians an escape clause - it is called the Pretribulation Rapture and is the belief that the Messiah returns suddenly (imminently) to gather all of the church saints to avoid the seven-year tribulation. This theory is relatively recent in terms of Biblical history. It comes from a Scottish minister named Edward Irving in the early 1800s. He was influenced by observing a young girl who fell into a trance and pronounced that Christ’s return would happen in two parts, not one, and His first appearance would be visible only to the righteous. Edward Irving started to teach his congregants this message. Another man, John Darby, heard of Irving’s teaching and he started to develop it further. Cyrus Scofield popularized the theory in his notes in his Scofield Reference Bible in America in the early 1900s. Today, it is commonly referred to in the shortened form as simply the Pretrib rapture.

If you visit a Christian bookstore and scan the prophecy section, the majority of the books on the shelves address the point of view of a Pretrib rapture. Most Christians believe what their pastors teach and don’t search the Scriptures (especially the Torah) to learn for themselves. Other points of view concerning the timing of the resurrection and rapture don’t sell very well. Who wants to hear different arguments among prophecy teachers, or worse, that believers will have to endure the Great Tribulation?

It should not come as a shock to readers of YAVOH that I do not teach nor hold to the theory of the Pretrib rapture. I believe that the rapture (translation of the believers alive at the time of the resurrection) includes the tribulation saints; therefore, I believe the timing of the rapture is in the days immediately after the tribulation but prior to the Day of the Lord (God’s wrath upon this world). I believe that the rapture/resurrection will be the fulfillment of a future Feast of Trumpets. However, some New Covenant brethren believe the rapture will happen before the Great Tribulation, I think that their idea of the rapture is simply out of order.

In recent articles (February and March 2010), I shared about the prophecy of Daniel’s 70 weeks and the key events that begin the final seven years of this age. These prophecies are what Yeshua used in order to answer the disciples’ questions about the end of the age and the signs of His coming. The final seven years leading to the end are the difference between the 62 years following the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem with plaza and moat. The specific events that separate the 62 years from the final seven years are three things: (1) an agreement involving Israel and many nations (the antimessiah confirms this agreement), (2) a regional war where God slaughters the enemies of Israel (Israel dwells securely in the land) then detailed burial procedures, and (3) the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon Israel and all mankind. With these three things we have confirmation in counting Daniel’s final 70 years accurately. We will also know that we are at the final seven years of Daniel’s count. Therefore this spring/summer of 2010 is of profound significance for all of us given that 62 years from the decree will be completed this May 2010.

So, why am I bringing up the Pretrib rapture at this point? If the final seven-year countdown begins in spring/summer of this year, then the Pretrib rapture will be proven to be a false expectation for end-time believers. This is going to be hard for many brethren to deal with. Many evangelical leaders and believers have pinned all of their hopes on this eschatology theory and will be confronted with this dilemma:

Many of the most influential nationally known Christian leaders and their ministries are on public record promoting and defending the Pretrib rapture (the sudden transformation and removal of believers from the present world prior to the final seven years).

In addition, what will Pretrib book publishers and teachers do after the seven years begin without a rapture? What will they say after the agreement spoken of in Daniel 9:27 is accomplished? What will they do when the regional war of Ezekiel 38 and 39 results in the seven years of burning the weapons of war? How will they explain the outpouring of the Holy Spirit or the House of Israel making their way to the land of Israel and God being sanctified before the nations?

I believe that there are four distinct directions that the Pretrib teachers will go.

1. They will deny that the final seven years has begun. They will claim that the agreement is not the specific agreement fulfilling Daniel 9:27.
And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week [the final seven years], but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate.

2. They will classify the fulfillment of Ezekiel’s war in chapter 38 and 39 as another in a long line of military conflicts of Israel’s history but not a part of the final seven years.

3. They will deny the outpouring of the Holy Spirit as another “spiritualized” movement as we have seen in recent revivals, which have all fallen short.

4. They will assure those who have followed their teaching that they will “have peace” and “no calamity will come upon them.” They will maintain that the rapture must happen before the final seven years can happen.

These teachers will face a major problem. Believers who follow their teaching will see too many things happening and realize that the theory of the Pretrib rapture was wrong. Many of them regrettably will give up the faith and refuse to listen any longer to any prophecy teacher.

In the final days, the “false prophets” Yeshua warned us about will be revealed. As disturbing as that may sound, look again to what Yeshua said of the days we live and how false prophets would “mislead, if possible, even the elect.” Yeshua mentioned several aspects in answering the brethren about the signs of the end of the ages. He talked about things that He said are NOT signs of the end but are the beginnings of sorrows (times of great stress on mankind), including wars, famines, earthquakes, and diseases. He spoke directly to specific prophecies by the prophet Daniel that were key to a proper understanding of identifying the final seven years and the final 3½-year Great Tribulation.

Finally, he addressed the subject of false prophets and false messiahs. He said of the latter that they would be so prolific that the elect (the believers) would almost be deceived.
Then if anyone says to you, “Behold, here is the messiah,” or “There He is,” do not believe him. For false messiahs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect.
Matthew 24:23-24

Consider this thought for a moment. If this warning of Yeshua is correct in the final generation, then the false messages and false brethren most likely come from the ranks of believers at the end of the ages, most likely Christians among Christians, and probably be in teaching and leadership positions. Today, the predominant evangelical message of the end of the ages is the Pretrib rapture. Many of the public evangelical messengers espouse the Pretrib rapture. Yeshua warned us about these who have the influence to possibly mislead the elect (believers).

The message of the Pretrib rapture is the most compelling evidence that indicts these teachers. The prophet Jeremiah speaks of false prophets at the end of the ages. Here is what he had to say about their message.
Thus says the Lord of hosts, “Do not listen to the words of the prophets who are prophesying to you. They are leading you into futility; they speak a vision of their own imagination, not from the mouth of the Lord. They keep saying to those who despise Me, ‘The Lord has said, “You will have peace’; and as for everyone who walks in the stubbornness of his own heart, they say, “Calamity will not come upon you.”’ But who has stood in the council of the Lord, that he should see and hear His word? Who has given heed to His word and listened? Behold, the storm of the Lord has gone forth in wrath, even a whirling tempest; it will swirl down on the head of the wicked. The anger of the Lord will not turn back until He has performed and carried out the purposes of His heart; in the last days you will clearly understand it.”
Jeremiah 23:16-20

The Pretrib rapture is futility. Look at it like a stopped watch; it will tell the correct time twice a day but it is not a working watch. The Pretrib rapture is based on the doctrine of imminency—that God is so sovereign that He can return at any moment of His choosing. No one disputes that God is sovereign; however, God has said of Himself that He does not do impulsive things like a man, nor does He change His mind. God has clearly said that He has a definite plan for the end of the ages and that He will do exactly what He has planned.
Remember this, and be assured; Recall it to mind, you transgressors. Remember the former things long past, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is no one like Me, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things which have not been done, saying, “My purpose will be established, and I will accomplish all My good pleasure”;calling a bird of prey from the east, the man of My purpose from a far country. Truly I have spoken; truly I will bring it to pass. I have planned it, surely I will do it.
Isaiah 46:8-11

God has said that the end of ages will include a specific seven-year period. In the middle of the seven the Abomination of Desolation will come and the resulting Great Tribulation. In days immediately following the tribulation, the Messiah will appear in the sky and return to judge the earth. That is what is going to happen. Any suggestion or teaching to the contrary falls into the category of a false teaching.

Look back again to Jeremiah’s word about false prophets and teachers. They have two messages for the people.
They keep saying to those who despise Me, The Lord has said, “You will have peace”; and as for everyone who walks in the stubbornness of his own heart, they say, “Calamity will not come upon you.”
Jeremiah 23:17

The message of the Pretrib rapture is that the church will have peace; no tribulation will come upon the church. Whenever a believer of the Pretrib rapture hears a teaching of the tribulation, they summarily dismiss it because they believe they won’t be there (they will have been raptured first). Somehow the logic of the Bible escapes them. Why would God have told us about the tribulation if we have nothing to do with it? It goes to the very nature of the people who believe in the Pretrib rapture. They despise God and have stubborn hearts. This is what Jeremiah says.

Many years ago, I was arguing with a Baptist pastor about the timing of the rapture. He strongly held to the Pretrib rapture. No matter how I approached the subject, no matter what Scripture that he or I used, he refused to budge at all on his conclusion. It seemed futile to continue the discussion so I concluded with a final question.

“If you were to see the prophesied events of start of the Great Tribulation (the middle of the seven years) and fully realized that you were now in the Great Tribulation, what would you do?” I expected him to say that he would adjust his beliefs and still look for the Lord’s return. Instead, he shocked me and said that he would give up the faith!

I immediately asked why. He answered that he did not want to believe in any God that would make him or his family go through the Great Tribulation.

It is as Jeremiah said, deep down they despise God and are stubborn in their hearts. By the way, I don’t believe that fellow believers like him will go through the tribulation. That kind of stubborn heart will get them killed early in the Great Tribulation.

Jeremiah is not the only one who describes false prophets to us. Yeshua warned us about them this way.
Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes, nor figs from thistles, are they? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit; but the bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. So then, you will know them by their fruits.
Matthew 7:15-20

Wolves are not good for the flock;in fact, they are dangerous to the flock. Maybe this is why they over-assert that the brethren will have peace and that no calamity will come upon them. They have to say this again and again. The real test and determinant is the resulting fruit. Yeshua draws a direct comparison between the tree itself and the fruit.

Messianic believers know that the good tree referred to by Yeshua is the Torah. Those who take hold of the Torah look to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. They look to the God who spoke from Mount Sinai and follow the instructions of righteousness given to Moses. They believe in the prophets of Israel and the Messiah King. The Torah leads us to the Messiah and the blessings of the kingdom.

Pretrib teachers and followers do not hold to the Torah. They skip past that part of the Bible and race to their own conclusions of who they are and what God will do for them. As a result, they produce a much different fruit from that of the Torah. Let me share a couple of examples of what I mean.

There are two Scriptures that dominate the subject of the rapture.
Behold, I tell you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.
I Corinthians 15:51-52
But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve, as do the rest who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, and remain until the coming of the Lord, shall not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.
I Thessalonians 4:13-18

Neither of these Scriptures speaks of a seven-year period or how the resurrection and the rapture occur prior to the last seven years. The conclusion that the rapture occurs prior to the tribulation is a theoretic judgment about who they think the church is and that God will never judge the church. “Judgment is something that happens to Jews, Israel, and the rest of the world; but it won’t happen to us, the church.” Never mind that the Apostle Peter says that judgment come first on the household of faith prior to the day of reckoning for the world.

Pretrib teachers say that there is no clue about the timing of the rapture in these two passages of Scriptures. They are wrong.

These two Scriptures say that the rapture occurs concurrently with the resurrection of the saints. It says that the rapture occurs when the Messiah descends from heaven, when the archangels give a shout, and when the last trumpet is sounded. Now this is the part where knowing the Torah is critical.

The Torah teaches us the great plan of the Messiah’s first coming and His second coming. It is laid out for us in the Appointed Times and God’s festivals.

The Messiah has already fulfilled the feasts that typify the work of redemption: Passover, the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and the Feast of First Fruits in the spring. We are still looking for the Messiah to fulfill the Feast of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement, and the Feast of Tabernacles in a future fall. The trumpet of God is the trumpet referred to in 1 Corinthians 15 and 1 Thessalonians 4. God doesn’t come at any moment of His choosing. He has a plan and He will come in the late summer/early fall just like the Feast of Trumpets does.

If you do not keep the Feasts of the Lord and you are not familiar with the sounding of shofars, then it is easy to ignore what those two passages are really saying.

The emphasis of these passages is to explain that those who are alive and are raptured will not precede the resurrection of the saints. The emphasis is to show that the rapture is part of the resurrection (the gathering of all His saints for His triumphant return to Jerusalem).

If you really want to see the Scriptures which explain the timing of this in relation to the tribulation, then find those Scriptures talking about the resurrection and the timing of the gathering of God’s saints. For example, the following is an excellent passage from the Messiah answering this very question.
But immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken, and then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory. And He will send forth His angels with a great trumpet and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.
Matthew 24:29-31

There is no question about the timing of the resurrection as being in the days immediately AFTER the Great Tribulation. It also says that a great trumpet is sounded. This could well be the LAST Trumpet. Logic would say that any trumpet sounded before this would not be the LAST one since this is sounded after the tribulation.

The Torah teaches us about the Day of Trumpets (Yom Teruah). It’s important to learn what the significance of using trumpets is. If you don’t study the Torah the significance is lost. When the LAST trumpet is mentioned to Pretrib teachers, it is sad to see how they dispute and ignore the Scripture and its meaning. It is the same disputing when they are confronted with the Scripture’s logic of the FIRST resurrection.
And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of the testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark upon their forehead and upon their hand;and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were completed. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years.
Revelation 20:4-6

This is another passage describing events after the tribulation. It says that the tribulation saints—those who did not worship the beast or his image, those who did not take the mark in their forehead or hand, and those who lost their lives resisting, were resurrected and lived with the Messiah in His 1,000 year age. It clearly and without equivocation says that this is the FIRST resurrection. Pretrib teachers say there is another resurrection before the FIRST one.

These same tribulation saints are shown to us in Revelation chapter 7.
After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude, which no one could count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palm branches were in their hands;
Revelation 7:9
And one of the elders answered, saying to me, “these who are clothed in the white robes, who are they, and from where have they come?” And I said to him, “My lord, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. For this reason, they are before the throne of God; and they serve Him day and night in His temple; and He who sits on the throne shall spread His tabernacle over them. They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore;neither shall the sun beat down on them, nor any heat; for the Lamb in the center of the throne shall be their shepherd, and shall guide them to springs of the water of life; and God shall wipe every tear from their eyes.
Revelation 7:13-17

Did you notice that these saints are holding palm branches? Those who hold to the Torah know that this is the preparation for keeping the Feast of Tabernacles when we make temporary dwelling places (Sukkot) using palm branches to make the roofs.

I have heard Pretrib teachers try to explain away these passages and their description assigning them to others, not the church. They say this is another group of believers separate from the church (who were raptured earlier).

Why do they twist the Scriptures and add other explanations saying the Bible cannot explain it properly? These teachers have not studied Torah and the Prophets. The Pretrib rapture theory is exactly that - it is a theory and not the truth. The simple truths of Torah lead us to understand the events of the end. Trying to explain end-time events without understanding Torah leads to nonsense and error. It also causes one to say the opposite of what the Scripture says, that the last trumpet is really the first and the first resurrection is really the last. Maybe this is why the elect are almost deceived but not quite.

So, let’s consider the near future. What if the final seven years becomes clear to all the believers this spring/summer of 2010 and God pours out His Spirit and literally everyone is able to not only understand but also to prophesy? What will the Pretrib teachers and followers do if they remain defiant against God’s plan?

I fear two things. One, they will be a part of the great falling away of faith as the Baptist pastor said to me and, two, they will turn against other believers who don’t agree with them. They will ultimately hate the tribulation saints. Maybe this is why Yeshua said this:
And at that time many will fall away and will deliver up one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise, and will mislead many. And because lawlessness (Torah-less-ness) is increased, most people's love will grow cold.
Matthew 24:10-12

When the final seven years become visible to all the brethren and they look around realizing the Pretrib rapture didn’t happen (they are still here), it will become obvious who the false teachers of our days are. It will shake the hearts of all believers as we prepare for the final years of this age.

The Messiah is not coming back to the church and Rome. He is coming back to Israel and Jerusalem. He is not coming to a New Testament Bible study; He is coming to teach the Torah.
Now it will come about that in the last days, the mountain of the house of the Lord will be established as the chief of the mountains, and will be raised above the hills; and all the nations will stream to it. And many peoples will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; that He may teach us concerning His ways, and that we may walk in His paths.” For the law will go forth from Zion, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. And He will judge between the nations, and will render decisions for many peoples; and they will hammer their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, and never again will they learn war.
Isaiah 2:2-4

In those days, the deception of the Pretrib rapture will not be remembered anymore. Those who survive to the end will be purified and ready for the Kingdom with no thought of escaping the future. When they see the Messiah returning on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory, they will know that all is in order.

It seems that if Jesus wanted us to realize this as the rapture, He would have said “as it was in the days of Enoch, for he walked with God and was not”. But He didn’t. He said it would be as the days of Noah and Lot.

Scripture Of The Day

Daniel 11:20-35

"His successor will be remembered as the king who sent a tax collector to maintain the royal splendor, but after a very brief reign, he will die, though neither in battle nor open conflict.
"The next to come to power will be a despicable man who is not directly in line for royal succession. But he will slip in when least expected and take over the kingdom by flattery and intrigue.
Before him great armies will be swept away, including a covenant prince.
By making deceitful promises, he will make various alliances. With a mere handful of followers, he will become strong.
Without warning he will enter the richest areas of the land and do something that none of his predecessors ever did-distribute among his followers the plunder and wealth of the rich. He will plot the overthrow of strongholds, but this will last for only a short while.
"Then he will stir up his courage and raise a great army against the king of the south. The king of the south will go to battle with a mighty army, but to no avail, for plots against him will succeed.
Those of his own household will bring his downfall. His army will be swept away, and many will be killed.
Seeking nothing but each other's harm, these kings will plot against each other at the conference table, attempting to deceive each other. But it will make no difference, for an end will still come at the appointed time.
"The king of the north will then return home with great riches. On the way he will set himself against the people of the holy covenant, doing much damage before continuing his journey.
"Then at the appointed time he will once again invade the south, but this time the result will be different.
For warships from western coastlands will scare him off, and he will withdraw and return home. But he will vent his anger against the people of the holy covenant and reward those who forsake the covenant.
His army will take over the Temple fortress, polluting the sanctuary, putting a stop to the daily sacrifices, and setting up the sacrilegious object that causes desecration.
He will flatter those who have violated the covenant and win them over to his side. But the people who know their God will be strong and will resist him.
"Those who are wise will give instruction to many. But for a time many of these teachers will die by fire and sword, or they will be jailed and robbed.
While all these persecutions are going on, a little help will arrive, though many who join them will not be sincere.
And some who are wise will fall victim to persecution. In this way, they will be refined and cleansed and made pure until the time of the end, for the appointed time is still to come.

There is no doubt that both Jude and Revelation mention the fact that Christ returns with His saints.

The word “Saints” is indicative of one who has received salvation, so the saints cannot be angels. Angels are not in need of salvation, so these saints must be Christians.

Now let’s look at these verses:

Matthew 24:31 - And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

I Thessalonians 4:16,17 - For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

I Corinthians 15:51,52 - Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Revelation 10:7 - But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

What I see here is that Christ returns with his army of angels, who gather His elect (the saints) who meet (Apantesis) Christ in the air, and escort him to his original destination which is Israel.

This takes place as the last trump begins to sound, and just as Corinthians mentions the rapture as being a mystery, Revelation says that at the beginning of the sounding of the seventh trumpet, the mystery is finished. (Rapture has now occurred).

So there are two groups involved here.
The Angels in Heaven who come with Christ, and the saints who meet Him in the air, and go with him to the earth.

Apantesis

Apantēsis (Strongs Greek 529) Is a technical term that refers specifically to the practice of sending a delegation outside the city walls and gates to receive a dignitary who was coming. This was the practice when a king and his army were returning from war. All the people would pour forth from the city gates and welcome them with pomp and circumstance. The people would meet them outside and then usher them back into the city with shouts of joy and acclamation.

W.E. Vines says “It is used in the papyri of a newly arriving magistrate. It seems that the special idea of the word was the official welcome of a newly arrived dignitary"

I would like to look at every instance this word is used in scripture (which is only 3 places):

Matthew 25:1 - Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

Matthew 25:6 -And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

Matthew 25:10 - And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

We can note three things about this word "meet" (apantesis)

1 - The bridegroom is going to the marriage feast.
2 - The virgins go out to meet him.
3 - They continue on to the marriage feast, the original destination.

The bridegroom certainly does not fetch them from where they are waiting and whisk them off to some far away location. Rather, while the foolish virgins are away buying more oil, the bridegroom comes and enters into the marriage feast with the five wise virgins. The foolish virgins return to their original location to find the door already shut.

Acts 28:15,16 - And from thence, when the brethren heard of us, they came to meet us as far as Appii forum, and The three taverns: whom when Paul saw, he thanked God, and took courage. And when we came to Rome, the centurion delivered the prisoners to the captain of the guard: but Paul was suffered to dwell by himself with a soldier that kept him.

Again, we note three things:
1 - Paul is traveling toward the city of Rome.
2 - The brethren meet him.
3 - Paul and the brethren continue on into Rome, the original destination.

I Thessalonians 4:16,17 - For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

This does not say anything about the Lord returning, then reversing direction and heading back to Heaven.
Verse 17 says “And so shall we ever be with the Lord”. We can’t follow Christ back to Heaven and “Ever be with the Lord” when He isn’t going to be there forever.
He’s setting up His kingdom here on earth!

When the dignitary approached a city, the elders of the city would go out to meet him and escort him back into the city. In no case does the one being met reverse direction and return the way he came. On the contrary, it is the people meeting the dignitary who change direction.

Once again, we note three things:
1 - The Lord descends from heaven [toward Earth].
2 - After the dead rise first, we who are alive go to meet him in the air.
3 - We accompany the Lord back to Earth, which he was originally approaching

Based upon this (among other things I’ve already mentioned in the book), I am persuaded to believe that the return of Christ and the rapture of the church take place simultaneously.

Good For Nothing Christians

“Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savor, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men,” Matt. 5:13 KJV.

Jesus said that salt without savor is “good for nothing.” Savor is the ingredient, the character that gives salt its quality–and its value. When salt is as it should be, it is a most precious commodity. Not only is it used as a seasoning; it is, more importantly, a preservative. As most everyone knows, salt was the primary source of food preservation before the days of refrigeration. Salt has been deemed to be so valuable at times that wars have actually been waged over it. During times of unusual deprivation, salt can be even more valuable than precious metals. But when salt loses its saltiness, it is absolutely worthless; it is “good for nothing.”

Jesus plainly proclaimed that He viewed His disciples as being the salt of society. In other words, when believers have the character they should have, they provide the preservation of the land. They hold back and retard the putrefying properties of spoilage and decay. But when Christians lose their character, when they lose the internal resistance to decay, they become “good for nothing” and the result is, the land is “trodden under foot of men.”

It grieves me to say that, for the most part, the modern Christian, the modern pastor, and the modern church have lost their savor. Taken as a whole, we have lost our inner character: the ability to resist decay and preserve the land has long departed, and America is fast being “trodden under foot of men.”

Our churches are no longer places of respite from the world: they are mirrors of it: the same dress; the same attitudes; the same carnality; the same spirit; the same stubbornness; the same pride. Churches are no longer bastions of truth: they are glorified social clubs or mere corporations, where Christianity is never allowed to interfere with business. Instead of being watchmen on the wall, our pastors are CEOs or, even worse, politicians. Popularity and personal ambition far outweigh commitment to truth and an independent mind. And as for Christian homes, forget it. The modern American home is straight out of Isaiah chapter three: “babes shall rule over them.” In the average “Christian” home, children rule the mothers, and mothers, in turn, rule the fathers. Discipline and instruction are out; leniency and ignorance are in.

We have a pandemic all right, but it’s not the swine flu: it is a pandemic of spineless Christianity. Parents who cannot stand up to their own children; pastors who cannot stand up to their own congregations; religious leaders who cannot stand up to politicians; and churches that cannot stand up to unconstitutional government.

Our so-called “conservative Christian” special interest groups are far more concerned about not losing financial contributions than they are about confronting the real evils of society. And as far as the Religious Right is concerned, it lost its soul somewhere early on in the first administration of George W. Bush.

If one is looking for someone to blame America’s demise on, don’t look to the prostitutes, drug dealers, or crooked politicians: look no further than the doorsteps of America’s churches. While the ominous clouds of oppression and tyranny boil overhead, our churches are content to play kid games and wallow in their own materialism and laziness. I realize there are exceptions to the rule, of course, but they are few and far between.

Sadder still is the lack of anything on the horizon that points to any kind of spiritual awakening. Look at the churches that are growing: for the most part, they are of the Joel Osteen and Rick Warren variety, where conviction has been replaced with compromise, and popularity has replaced principle. Genuine Bible prophets usually occupy the pulpits where hardly anyone attends. Truth has been replaced with entertainment, and calls for repentance are drowned out by the clamor for prosperity theology.

I can tell you from personal experience that, in more than 34 years of Gospel ministry, it has never been harder to continue to carry the torch of truth than it is today. It takes a toll on one’s physical health and emotional being, and even on one’s family. Any pastor desiring to carry the torch of truth today need not expect to have many friends. And any evangelist desiring to carry the torch of truth today need not expect to get many meetings. Truth is about as popular as a bad case of the measles, and yes, I mean among today’s professing “Christians.”

Should it surprise us, then, that we see the encroachment of our liberties and the erosion of constitutional government coming hard and fast? Should it surprise us that America is losing its conscience–not to mention our heritage? Should it surprise us when we see hundreds of large, empty internment camps popping up everywhere? Should it surprise us when we read of would-be tyrants in Washington, D.C., trying to pass egregious legislation that would strip us of our Bill of Rights? Should it surprise us when we see multinational corporations working with foreign governments to erode the sovereignty of these United States? Should it surprise us when we see both Republican and Democratic Presidential administrations look the other way while our borders are being invaded and even erased?

When the salt loses its savor, it is “cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.” And that is exactly what is happening to us today.

Does all this make me fatalistic? Not at all. I am absolutely convinced that God will always reserve to Himself a faithful remnant and a land of liberty for those who desire it. But before we talk about the land, we must be sure that our hearts are willing to pay the price to obtain it. We’ll leave that discussion for another time.

Eschatology Timelines

Someone was asking me today where certain beliefs about the end times come from.

Although I have done my best to put together a coherent timeline, There are others who have come up with similar time lines using either the same methods, or different methods and scripture altogether.

The following is a list of websites I'm familiar with that have come to the conclusion that sometime between 2009 & 2017 is the rapture/tribulation/return of Christ.

As with visiting any internet website, keep in mind there are going to be things we do not agree with, but I believe we can glean information from.

Pagan Christianity

In my last post, I had my little rant about how I’m fed up with today’s so called “Christian Leadership”.

In this post, I want to expose some of the origins of current church “practice” and “tradition”.

When Christ began His ministry, and the apostles ministered, and set up “churches”, The church was known to be a body of believers. It was never a “building”. As a matter of fact, the first church “building” was constructed under Constantine in the early 300’s.
He was a worshipper of Mithra, who was born December 25th. He took the Pagan practices of his day, and moved them into the church.

He was looking to unite all people, so he decided the best way to do that was through religion. He said that Christians would no longer have to pay taxes. All of a sudden, it was popular for everyone to be a “Christian”! And instead of doing away with the celebration of Mithra’s birthday, he adopted it into the Roman church and claimed they could celebrate Christ’s birthday on December 25th instead.

Jeremiah 10:2-4 “Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people [are] vain: for [one] cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.”

It was a Pagan practice to cut a tree down, bring it in the house and nail it to the floor and decorate it. And we have brought that pagan practice to honor the god Mithra right into our own homes.

What about “The Holy Eucharist”? Where did that come from? Most already know that it came from “The Lords Supper”. Does anyone know what “Supper” is?

It’s certainly not a stale cracker and a shot glass of grape juice! It’s a SUPPER! It’s a spread. It’s meatloaf and chicken, and green beans, and potato salad.

The whole purpose of the Lord’s Supper was to get together and feast and enjoy one another's company and share our JOY in the Lord.
How do you think most churches today would react if we began celebrating the Lord’s Supper the way the scriptures teach?

Did you know there was no “Alter Call” prior to the 1600’s? “How were people saved”? you ask. By believing in Christ and living their lives for Him. You can’t get saved by filling out the back of a card. You’re not saved by dedicating your life to a building. It is “He that shall endure to the end shall be saved”.

What about the sermon? Did you know that there were a group called “Sophists” who studied how to give great speeches? When church buildings began to be erected, these Sophists were placed as the speakers because they could deliver great sounding speeches.

So who did the preaching prior to the sophists? Everyone! The church had no leader, it had no choir or praise team. Believers would simply gather in each others homes and worship God, give testimony of what the Lord was doing in their lives, make up their own songs. It was worship in Spirit and in Truth!

You may have read an earlier post I did on The Tithe. If you haven’t, I encourage you to read it because it goes into detail to really drive the point home. The tithe is not for the church. It never was. The ten percent became popular in the 700’s to pay the 10% rent used in the Roman Empire. It was later justified using the Old Testament (Although the Old Testament tithe was over 23%).

So much of today’s “tradition” comes from Pagan Rome. Mark 7:13 says people have made the word of God of no effect by their traditions.

So if all this Pagan tradition began in Rome, what do we conclude? The conclusion is that the TRUE church that Christ taught devolved in the early 300’s into the Roman Church. The Protestants that decided to come out of the Roman church system kept many of their traditions. That’s why we have 3600 denominations today. No one can seem to agree on anything because they refuse to go by what the Word of God says and do things the way Christ set it up two thousand years ago.

Just look at the Roman Church today (You can insert the word Catholic here) The Roman Catholic church reveres Mary as equal with God, and higher than Christ. Nowhere in scripture will you find any instance of someone praying to Mary. Nowhere in scripture will you find someone with a Rosary and doing ten hail Mary’s. There is no forgiveness of sins here. There is no salvation in a bunch of idolatrous beads!

It’s the BLOOD OF JESUS. Nothing more, and certainly nothing less. Time is short people. The time has come to decide which side of the fence you’re going to fall on, because God is not going to let us continue playing religion. He is coming for a Royal People, a Holy Nation, a Bride without spot or wrinkle.

Although I've only scratched the surface of Pagan practice in this post, there is much more to be exposed.

Revelation 18:4 says "And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues."

The subject here is "My People". These are God's people, and they are to "Come out of her". The "Her" spoken of here is the Whore of Babylon. The whole World/Church system that has prostituted herself with other religions. The reason for coming out is so that we don't have to take part in the plagues that are about to befall her.

The Shmittah Cycle

The Shmittah year is the seventh year.

Exodus 23:10,11 - And six years thou shalt sow thy land, and shalt gather in the fruits thereof: But the seventh [year] thou shalt let it rest and lie still; that the poor of thy people may eat: and what they leave the beasts of the field shall eat. In like manner thou shalt deal with thy vineyard, [and] with thy oliveyard.

The Jubilee year is after the 7th Shmittah. The 7th Shmittah occurs on the 49th year, so the Jubilee year would be the 50th year.

Leviticus 25:10 - And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout [all] the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.

The chart below shows the Shmittah Cycle and the Jubilee year.

Daniel 9:24 - Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

Seventy Shavua (weeks of years) are determined, or set in place.

Daniel 9:25 - Know therefore and understand, [that] from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince [shall be] seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

From the going forth of the commandment to restore Jerusalem (UN Resolution 181 – November 29th, 1947) until Messiah returns will be 69 years.

The last Jubilee year was 1967 when the six day war took place. The time before that was 1917 when the Balfour declaration was signed. Prior to that it was 1867 The final emancipation of the Jews in Austria and Hungary.

Keep in mind that Leviticus 25:10 says that on the Jubilee year, everything must be returned to it’s rightful owner (including family).

Colossians 1:20 - And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, [I say], whether [they be] things in earth, or things in heaven.

God Himself has a Jubilee year when everyone that belongs to Him will be returned.
2017 is the next jubilee year and is also seventy years from the declaration that went forth to restore Israel.

If Christ is to return after 69 years as Daniel prophesied, that would place His return at some point after Pentecost of 2016, with 2017 being the year He reigns from Jerusalem!

We also know that there will be seven years prior to His return known as “Jacobs’ trouble” (Jeremiah 30:7) More commonly referred to as “The Tribulation”. I’ll let you do the math on that one.

Joel 2:31 and Acts 2:20 prophecy that the sun will be darkened and the moon will be turned to blood before the great and terrible day of the Lord. Revelation 6:12 says this prophecy is fulfilled at the sixth seal.

Revelation 6:12 - And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

If we look at Nasa’s website, they list all the solar and lunar eclipses and when they will occur. There is an event known as a “Tetrad”, where there are four lunar eclipses within 12 months of each other. It is a fairly rare occurrence, but what is even more rare is the tetrad that occurs in 2014/2015.

These lunar eclipses (known as blood moons) all fall on Jewish Feast days. The word “Feast” in Hebrew is “Moed”, meaning “an appointed time”.

Genesis 1:14 - And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

Psalm 81:3 - Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.

Hosea 9:5 - What will ye do in the solemn day, and in the day of the feast of the LORD?

Exodus 12:14 - And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.

The last time these eclipses fell on Jewish feast days was in 1967. This was the six day war in Israel. The time before that was 1947. That is the year the UN decreed that Israel would again be recognized as a nation. Before that, it was 1492. That is when the Jews were expelled from Spain.

In every instance where these Tetrad’s occur on Jewish feast days, Israel is at the center of God’s focus.

These Tetrads take place again on Jewish feast days April 15, 2014 (Passover) – October 8, 2014 (Tabernacles) – April 4, 2015 (Passover) – and September 28, 2015 (Tabernacles).

That covers the prophecy of the moon turning to blood, but what about the sun being darkened?

There also happens to be four solar eclipses in that time frame.
April 29, 2014, - October 23, 2014, - March 20, 2015, - and September 13, 2015.
Once again, showing that these signs take place in 2015 before the Day of the Lord!

Luke 21:11 - And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.
Another one of these signs from heaven is “Birkat Hachama”, which means “Blessing of the Sun”.

The Solar cycle is 28 years. Every 28 years, the vernal equinox falls on a Tuesday at sundown. Jews say a special prayer on this day, thanking God for creating the luminaries. "Blessed are You, LORD, our God, King of the Universe who makes the works of Creation." They teach that the sun is in the exact same place at this time, as it was when God placed it there in the beginning.

The difference this year, is that Birkat Hachama fell on the eve of Passover. This has happened only two other times in history. The first was the year the Jews were redeemed from Egypt, and the second time was in the year of the redemption of Mordechai and Esther.

Kadosh Elyon, author of Meir Enei Chachamim, wrote 200 years ago the third time that Israel will bless the sun on the eve of Passover will be in the year 5769 (2009), and adds, "This will be last time ever and shortly afterwards, the Geula (Redemption) MUST come".

Exodus Rapture

Revelation Sequence

If we look at Amos 5:18, Joel 3:14,15, Ezekiel 32:7, Joel 2:1,2, Isaiah 13:6-10, Zephaniah 1:14,15, and Matthew 24:29-31, they all say the same thing. The Day of the Lord (Wrath) is a day when the Luminaries are darkened.

However, Joel 2:31, Acts 2:20, and Revelation 6:12 says that BEFORE the Day of the Lord, the Sun will be darkened and the Moon will turn to blood.

These are two separate events. We know that at the sixth seal, the sun is darkened and the moon turns to blood. However the fourth trumpet is when the luminaries are darkened. So the fourth trumpet must come after the sixth seal. We also see that it is at the fourth vial that the luminaries are darkened, so this too must come after the sixth seal and fourth trumpet.

We also see the servants sealed at the sixth seal. At the fifth trumpet, the locusts are commanded not to hurt those with the seal of God. Those sealed have already been taken to Heaven in Revelation 7:9 so the fifth trumpet must occur prior to this.

When the seventh trumpet begins to sound, the “Mystery of God” is finished.
1 Corinthians 15:51 - Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed

After the seventh vial, God says “It is done”. This is the end of the final plagues.

It is at the sixth vial that Christ comes as a thief and gathers the armies to Armageddon. The bride first went into her Chuppah, then Harpazo'ed at the sixth seal, and Christ returns to defeat the armies at Armageddon.

Joel 2:16 - Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.

I believe the sequence of Seals, Trumpets and vials overlap each other and would look closer to something like this:

At the second trumpet, the mountain of fire is cast into the sea. At the second vial, the sea is turned to blood. At the third trumpet, wormwood falls onto the rivers. At the third vial, the rivers turn to blood.

At the sixth trumpet, the four bound angels in the Euphrates are loosed, and at the fifth vial, the Euphrates is dried up.

Protection Vs. Rapture

I know I have rehashed the whole rapture timing a thousand times.

I am now right back to where I was several weeks ago. I am not trying to cause confusion, I am just trying to figure all this out just like the rest of you.

Here is how I understand it right now:

Joel 2:16 - Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.

The assembly spoken of here is Shavuot (Pentecost), which is the same time the battle of Armageddon is taking place. At the time of this war, the bride comes out of her closet. The word “closet” in Hebrew is “chuppah”, and means “a nuptial bed, a covering, or divine protection”. It is mentioned only two other times in scripture: Psalm 19:9, and 1 Chronicles 24:13

At this point, she is still the bride, however in Revelation 19:7 we read “Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.”

The marriage supper of the lamb takes place at the same time the beasts of the earth are feasting on the defeated armies of Armageddon.

Where was the bride prior to this time?

Revelation 3:7,8,10 - And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth; I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

Isaiah 26:17-20 - Like as a woman with child, [that] draweth near the time of her delivery, is in pain, [and] crieth out in her pangs; so have we been in thy sight, O LORD. We have been with child, we have been in pain, we have as it were brought forth wind; we have not wrought any deliverance in the earth; neither have the inhabitants of the world fallen. Thy dead [men] shall live, [together with] my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew [is as] the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead. Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.

Luke 21:36 - Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. ( Matthew 24:42, Matthew 25:13, Mark 13:35, I Thessalonians 5:6, I Peter 4:7, Revelation 3:3)

It is clear that there is a place of hiding – an escape for those who are watching.

Revelation 2:22 - Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.

Clearly, those who commit fornication with this false religious system will enter the great tribulation. Doesn’t this also allude to the fact that those that do not mingle with this whore will not enter the great tribulation?

Revelation 20:4,5 - And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and [I saw] the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received [his] mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This [is] the first resurrection.

When is the first resurrection? It comes at the end.

Matthew 24:29-31 - Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Once again, after the tribulation, Jesus gathers His elect.

II Thessalonians 2:1-4 - Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and [by] our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day shall not come], except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

And yet again, this gathering does not take place until Antichrist is revealed and sits in the temple of God.

John 6:39 - And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. (John 6:40, John 6:44, John 6:54, John 11:24)

The main theme of the gathering taking place at the last day is pretty obvious.

The disciples knew full well when this gathering would take place, and where it was they were taken to.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-4 - But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

Revelation 16:15-18 - Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed [is] he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon. And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done. And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, [and] so great.

So the bride is hidden, then “caught up” and taken to Israel at the battle of Armageddon, and for the marriage supper of the lamb.

Matthew 24:37 - But as the days of Noe [were], so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Genesis 7:16 - And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in.

Luke 17:26-30 - And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed [them] all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

Again, this is speaking about a time when Christ is “Revealed” which in the Greek is the word “apokalypto”. It is when Christ returns that the sudden destruction takes place.

Genesis 19:10 - But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door.

In the days of Noah and Lot, they were taken to safety and the door was shut.

Matthew 25:10 - And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

Once again, some go to safety and the door is shut.

From what I understand at this point, there IS a place of divine protection during this period, however the rapture takes place at the end.

Birkat Hachama

Remember the "Blessing of the Sun" that everyone was talking about back in April?

If you are not familiar with "Birkat Hachama", it refers to a Jewish blessing that is recited in appreciation of the Sun once every 28 years, when the vernal equinox, as calculated by tradition, falls on a Tuesday at sundown. Jewish tradition says that when the Sun completes this cycle, it has returned to its position when the world was created.

Very rarely does this day fall on the Eve of Passover, but in 2009 it did.

Og and Gog

Amos 4:1-2 - Hear this word, ye kine of Bashan, that [are] in the mountain of Samaria, which oppress the poor, which crush the needy, which say to their masters, Bring, and let us drink. The Lord GOD hath sworn by his holiness, that, lo, the days shall come upon you, that he will take you away with hooks, and your posterity with fishhooks.

Ezekiel 38:2-4 - Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I [am] against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts [of armour, even] a great company [with] bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:

Both Gog, and the kine of Bashan are led by God with hooks. Where is Bashan?

Bashan is a biblical place first mentioned in Genesis 14:5, where it is said that Chedorlaomer and his confederates "smote the Rephaim in Ashteroth," where Og the king of Bashan had his residence.

Argob, in Bashan, was one of Solomon's commissariat districts (1 Kings 4:13) also known as Trachonitis and Lejah. (in modern day Syria)

Trachonitis means “the rugged region”. It is an island of rock which was approximately 20 miles by 30 miles, and rose 20 or 30 feet above the table-land of Bashan.

Ashteroth translates literally to 'Ashteroth of the Horns'. Ashteroth was the goddess of the Philistines (known as Ishtar in Babylon, Inanna in Sumeria, and Venus in Greece)

Daniel 7:21 - I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;

Deuteronomy 3:11 - For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of giants; behold, his bedstead [was] a bedstead of iron; [is] it not in Rabbath of the children of Ammon? nine cubits [was] the length thereof, and four cubits the breadth of it, after the cubit of a man.

Rephaim – to be cast down, or thrown down. An ancient race of giants.

Magog is Armageddon

Ezekiel 3:5 - For thou [art] not sent to a people of a strange speech and of an hard language, [but] to the house of Israel;

The message of Ezekiel is to Israel, not to the gentile nations. I believe this is because the rapture has taken place and Ezekiel’s message is to the nation of Israel which is facing the coming war we call Armageddon.

Ezekiel 39:4 - Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that [is] with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and [to] the beasts of the field to be devoured.

Ezekiel 39:17-20 - And, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD; Speak unto every feathered fowl, and to every beast of the field, Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice for you, [even] a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh, and drink blood. Ye shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams, of lambs, and of goats, of bullocks, all of them fatlings of Bashan. And ye shall eat fat till ye be full, and drink blood till ye be drunken, of my sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you. Thus ye shall be filled at my table with horses and chariots, with mighty men, and with all men of war, saith the Lord GOD.

Revelation 19:17-18 - And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all [men, both] free and bond, both small and great.

In the Magog war, the armies are fed to birds and animals. At Armageddon, the armies are fed to birds and animals. It’s the same war.

Zechariah 12:10,11 - And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for [his] only [son], and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for [his] firstborn. In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon.

Zechariah says God will pour His Spirit out, and Israel will LOOK upon Christ whom they have pierced, and this is in the valley of Megiddon. At this point, they SEE Christ returning.

Now look at Ezekiel 39:29: “Neither will I hide my face any more from them: for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.”

Again, this shows the Magog war IS Armageddon! God has poured out his Spirit, just as prophesied by Zechariah, and God says “neither will I hide my face any more from them”. If this were a war prior to Armageddon, this would not make sense.

Ezekiel 39:23 - And the heathen shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity: because they trespassed against me, therefore hid I my face from them, and gave them into the hand of their enemies: so fell they all by the sword.

Revelation 13:10 - He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

In the Magog war, Israel is led captive. Revelation tells us this is what Antichrist does.

Ezekiel 38:22 - And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that [are] with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.

Revelation 19:20 - And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

Once again, Ezekiel explains there is a war where it rains hail, fire, and brimstone, and it is a lake of fire and brimstone that the antichrist is thrown into.

Ezekiel 39:9 - And they that dwell in the cities of Israel shall go forth, and shall set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the handstaves, and the spears, and they shall burn them with fire seven years:

The reason Israel does not save or use these weapons is because true peace has finally come. Jesus Christ will rule and reign with a rod of iron. I myself have tried to over spiritualize this verse and say that they won’t be burning weapons into the millennial Kingdom, but the earth will still be here. There will be survivors.

Even Revelation 22:2 says “In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, [was there] the tree of life, which bare twelve [manner of] fruits, [and] yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree [were] for the healing of the nations.”

There will be people that do not live in this city, and we will be able to minister to them, and bring the healing leaves out of the city, into the nations of the world.

Ezekiel 38:2 - Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him

Daniel 9:26 - And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof [shall be] with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

Antichrist is the prince that shall come. He is also the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal. Daniel 7:24 says he shall subdue three kings.

Ezekiel 38:10 - Thus saith the Lord GOD; It shall also come to pass, [that] at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought:

John 13:2 - And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's [son], to betray him;

John 13:27 - And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.

This prince receives an evil thought from Satan, just as Judas did. It also says Satan entered into Judas. This is what we know happens to antichrist.

Reading Ezekiel 36 through 48, it gives perfect chronological order to end time events. Chapter 36 talks about the re-gathering of Israel. Chapter 37 goes on to talk about the resurrection of Israel and God’s will for it to prosper, and how He will reign from Israel. Chapter 38 speaks of how Israel will prosper and how they will come to accept antichrist as messiah. Chapter 39 tells how God will destroy antichrist. Chapters 40 onward give the details of building the millennial temple.

Ezekiel 38:17 - Thus saith the Lord GOD; [Art] thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days [many] years that I would bring thee against them?

Right from this verse, we see that Gog is the one that was spoken of by the prophets of Israel. This is a very specific war; The war to end all wars. The antichrist is the only prince ever prophesied to come against Israel. Thus, Gog is antichrist.

Ezekiel 39:7,8 - So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not [let them] pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I [am] the LORD, the Holy One in Israel. Behold, it is come, and it is done, saith the Lord GOD; this [is] the day whereof I have spoken.

Again, God says this is the day that He had spoken of. This is the final war. All throughout scripture, it mentions “the Holy One of Israel”. Ezekiel 39:7 is the only place that says “the Holy One IN Israel”. After the Magog war, Jesus is physically present in Israel.

Ezekiel 38:20 - So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that [are] upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.

Revelation 16:18 - And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, [and] so great.

This is the same earthquake that shakes the foundations of the world.

The old testament never mentions a war as large as the Magog war. The new testament never mentions a war as large as Armageddon. If they were different wars, it would make sense for them both to be mentioned.

Joel 2:20

Joel 2:20 - But I will remove far off from you the northern [army], and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face toward the east sea, and his hinder part toward the utmost sea, and his stink shall come up, and his ill savour shall come up, because he hath done great things.

“Northern” in Hebrew is “tsaphown”, which is a noun meaning “Northern” or “from the North”. It’s usage can be found in Jeremiah 15:12.

However, in Joel 2:20, the word “Northern” is translated from a slightly different word “tsĕphowniy” , which is an adjective meaning “Zephonites”. Instead of describing a place or location, it is describing the army itself as being Zephonites.

Zephon means “treasure”. The Zephonites were descendants of Gad. (Genesis 46:16)

The Word “Barren” means “Dryness, Desert”. Taken into context, I believe Matthew 12:43 mentions this. “When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.”

The word “Desolate” is again found in Ezekiel 35:3 “And say unto it, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O mount Seir, I [am] against thee, and I will stretch out mine hand against thee, and I will make thee most desolate.”

Verse 15 says” As thou didst rejoice at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I do unto thee: thou shalt be desolate, O mount Seir, and all Idumea, [even] all of it: and they shall know that I [am] the LORD.”

So it is talking about Seir and Idumea here. Idumea being Edom.

Now we can look at the history of Seir.

The word "demon", which is exclusive to the Greek, was translated from the words "seirim" and "shedim", in the Hebrew. "Seirim", is the name of a "tribe" of nephillim, which were native to the area of Mt. Seir, south of the Dead Sea. The name comes from the Hebrew [Strong's ref. 8165 Seiyr, say - eer; seir, a mountain of Idumaea and its aboriginal occupants.]. But the root for this word is the most revealing[Strongs ref. 8163 saiyr, saw - eer; shaggy, a he-goat; by anal. a faun:- devil, goat, hairy, satyr.]. And even more [Strong's ref. 8175 saar, saw - ar; a prim. root, to storm, i.e. fear:- be horribly afraid, be tempestuous, come like a storm.]. It is the root "saiyr", that we get the Greek translation for"daemon" (demon). The scary thing about these root words for the name "Seirim", is they all indicate that these things were REAL TANGIBLE CREATURES. They were "aboriginal occupants", they were "hairy" and "shaggy", they are related to being "fauns" (fairies), "satyrs", and DEVILS, but they were tangible, PHYSICAL manifestations that lived and were "native" to some areas. The word "shedim" in the Hebrew means [Strong's ref. 7700 shed, shade; a demon:- devil.]. This comes from an earlier, and quite interesting [Strong's ref. 7736 shuwd, shood; a prim. root; to swell up, fig. (by impl. of insolence),to devastate:- waste.]. It was the combination of these two Hebrew words, that we get our version, demons. The "shedim" are the most ancient of all nephillim tribes listed in the bible.

The rest of the Nephilim tribes listed in scripture are:
Raphiam - from the root word rafa (spirits) Gen. 14:5
Anikim - The prideful ones. Num. 13:28-33
Emim - The proud deserters. Gen.14:5
Zuzim - The evil ones. Num 14:5
Zamzuzamim - The evil plotters. Deut. 2:20
Zophim - The watchers. Dan 4:17 & Num. 23

Moving right along with Joel 2:20, it says “with his face toward the east sea, and his hinder part toward the utmost sea”

Instead of making this particular study of ONE VERSE more than eight pages in length, I encourage you to look up the meanings of these words for yourself. I will just give the meaning here instead of going into too much detail.

Properly translated, (I believe) this verse says “With his beginning in the East at the Dead Sea, and his end in the west at the Mediterranean Sea.”

Meaning, he comes from the Dead Sea, where Sier is located, and his end comes at the Mediterranean Sea, where Megiddo is located.

The “stink” mentioned here is only mentioned two other times in the bible. In Isaiah 34:3, and Amos 4:10. In both instances, it is talking about this same war of Armageddon.

A Coming Invasion

In Jeff's recent article on The Rebirth Celebration, he briefly touched on the "horses" of Joel chapter 2.

I wanted to add my own thoughts in the form of a comment, but I decided to make it a post here instead.

Joel 1:14,15 - Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders [and] all the inhabitants of the land [into] the house of the LORD your God, and cry unto the LORD, Alas for the day! for the day of the LORD [is] at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.

Joel 2:15 - Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly:

Leviticus 23:36 - Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: it [is] a solemn assembly; [and] ye shall do no servile work [therein].

Numbers 29:35 - On the eighth day ye shall have a solemn assembly: ye shall do no servile work [therein]:

Deuteronomy 16:8 - Six days thou shalt eat unleavened bread: and on the seventh day [shall be] a solemn assembly to the LORD thy God: thou shalt do no work [therein].

2 Chronicles 7:9 - And in the eighth day they made a solemn assembly: for they kept the dedication of the altar seven days, and the feast seven days.

Nehemiah 8:18 - Also day by day, from the first day unto the last day, he read in the book of the law of God. And they kept the feast seven days; and on the eighth day [was] a solemn assembly, according unto the manner.

In every instance, the solemn assembly is in reference to Pentecost. It means “A day of restraint”.

Why the solemn assembly? What takes place at Pentecost?

Joel 2:1,2 - Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for [it is] nigh at hand; A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, [even] to the years of many generations.

Joel 2:4 - The appearance of them [is] as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run.

Who is this “great people”?

Isaiah 13:2-6 (LXX) On a mountain in the plain raise a signal; raise up your voice to them; do not fear; encourage them with your hand; open, you rulers. It is I who instruct, and I lead them; (they have been consecrated for this task) and it is I who summon them. Giants come to fulfill my wrath, at the same time rejoicing and reviling. A voice of many nations on the mountains like that of many nations! A voice of kings and of nations gathered together! The Lord Sabaoth has commanded a heavily armed nation to come from a distant land, from the utmost foundation of heaven to destroy the whole world. Wail for the day of the Lord is near and a destruction will come from God!

What?! Giants come to fulfill God’s wrath? From a distant land that is located in the “utmost foundation of heaven”? Do you expect me to believe that?

Habakkuk 1:5,8 - Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for [I] will work a work in your days, [which] ye will not believe, though it be told [you]…… Their horses also are swifter than the leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves: and their horsemen shall spread themselves, and their horsemen shall come from far; they shall fly as the eagle [that] hasteth to eat.

Isaiah 26:19 - Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise (rapture). Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of light, and the earth shall cast out the Rapha.

In the beginning of this verse, it is speaking of the resurrection of the dead. Then at the end of the verse, it uses the term "Rapha" which is referring to "Giants" or "Nephilim".
So once again, we see around the time of the rapture, we also see a return of the Nephilim.

Psalm 78:49 - He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, by sending evil angels [among them].

Isaiah 14:29 - Rejoice not thou whole Palestina, because the rod of him that smote thee is broken: for out of the serpent’s root (Satan) shall come forth a viper (Antichrist), and his fruit shall be a fiery flying serpent.

Jeremiah 4:13,15,16 - Behold, he shall come up as clouds, and his chariots [shall be] as a whirlwind: his horses are swifter than eagles. Woe unto us! for we are spoiled. For a voice declareth from Dan, and publisheth affliction from mount Ephraim. Make ye mention to the nations; behold, publish against Jerusalem, [that] watchers come from a far country, and give out their voice against the cities of Judah.

In an earlier study, I showed that Antichrist comes from the tribe of Dan. We also see the mention of "Watchers". These are a type of angel. In this case, fallen angels.

Isaiah 10:3 - And what will ye do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation [which] shall come from far? to whom will ye flee for help? and where will ye leave your glory?

Luke 21:25-28 - And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

2 Thessalonians 2:11 - And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

Romans 1:21-25 - Because that, when they knew God, they glorified [him] not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

Perhaps these creatures which were created by God will claim to know Christ, and will lead many astray. People will worship these creatures just as they did in days of old, instead of worshiping the God that created them.

Matthew 24:23,24 - Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here [is] Christ, or there; believe [it] not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if [it were] possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

When we look at Daniel’s image, we see in chapter 2 verse 43: “And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay”

Who are they, that mix their seed with men? It’s the same subject here. The last days, and a coming invasion.

As it was in the days of Noah, when the "Bene Ha Elohyim" or "Angels" just took whomever they chose to mingle their seed.

It led to the destruction of the world the first time; The Lord will not withhold His judgment the second time.

I don’t know when it will take place, but I know that it will.

Gospel in the Genealogies

Here is something from Chuck Missler that I found several years ago:

Methuselah comes from muth, a root that means "death" and from shalach, which means to bring, or to send forth. The name Methuselah means, "his death shall bring".

Methuselah's father was given a prophecy of the coming Great Flood, and was apparently told that as long as his son was alive, the judgment of the flood would be withheld; but as soon as he died, the flood would be brought or sent forth.

And, indeed, the year that Methuselah died, the flood came. It is interesting that Methuselah's life, in effect, was a symbol of God's mercy in forestalling the coming judgment of the flood. Therefore, it is fitting that his lifetime is the oldest in the Bible, speaking of the extensiveness of God's mercy.

The Other Names
Adam - Adam’s name means “man.” As the first Man, that seems straightforward enough.

Seth - Adam's son was named Seth, which means appointed. Eve said, "For God hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.

Enosh - Seth's son was called Enosh, which means mortal, frail, or miserable. It is from the root anash, to be incurable, used of a wound, grief, woe, sickness, or wickedness. It was in the days of Enosh that men began to defile the name of the Living God.

Kenan - Enosh's son was named Kenan, which can mean sorrow, dirge, or elegy.

Mahalalel - Kenan's son was Mahalalel, form Mahalal, which means blessed or praise; and El, the name for God. Thus, Mahalalel means the Blessed God. Often Hebrew names include El, the name of God, as Dan-i-el, "God is my judge", etc.

Jared - Mahalalel's son was named Jared, from the verb yaradh, meaning shall come down.

Enoch - Jared's son was named Enoch, which means teaching, or commencement. He was the first of four generations of preachers. In fact, the earliest recorded prophecy was by Enoch, which amazingly enough deals with the second coming of Christ (although it is quoted in the book of Jude in the New Testament)

Methuselah - Enoch was the father of Methuselah, who we have already mentioned. Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah. Apparently, Enoch received the prophecy of the Great Flood, and was told that as long as his son was alive, the judgment of the flood would be withheld. The year that Methuselah died, the flood came. Enoch of course, never died: he was translated. That's how Methuselah can be the oldest man in the Bible, yet he died before his father!

Lamech - Methuselah's son was named Lamech, a root still evident today in our own English word, lament or lamentation. Lamech suggests despairing.

Noah - Lamech, of course, is the father of Noah, which is derived from nacham, to bring relief or comfort, as Lamech himself explains in Genesis 5:29.

Moses a Time Traveler?

Exodus 19:16,18 - And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that [was] in the camp trembled. Exd 19:18And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.

Revelation 16:18 - And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, [and] so great.

Notice when God shows up, His arrival is accompanied by "voices, trumpets, thunder, lightning, and earthquakes".

I believe when God leaves the Spiritual dimension to enter our physical dimension, he bends the fabric of these dimensions which cause disturbances to our surroundings.

Notice in 2nd Samuel 22:10 and Psalm 18:9 - He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness [was] under his feet.

God bowed the heavens. If you continue reading in 2nd Samuel 22 and Psalm 18, you will also read what accompanies this "bowing of the heavens" is thunder, lightning, voices, and smoke.

This happens in every occurrence where the Lord opens this doorway.

Now look at Exodus 34:30 - And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him.

Keep in mind that Moses was on "a high mountain" when this took place.

Matthew 17:1-3 And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.

Once again, we see Jesus on "a high mountain" and this "bowing of the heavens" affected Jesus and Moses in the same manner.

Exodus 34:28 - And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water.

Moses probably didn't even realize he was there 40 days. To him, it was but a brief moment in time when the heavens were bowed, and he stepped onto the mount to speak with Jesus, Peter, James, and John.

A Year of Change

Genesis 15:13-14
13 And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;
14 And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.

Since America's first colony in 1607, until 2007 is 400 years.
2008 was a year in which "Change" was promised.
Although we remain a nation, we are not the same empire.

In Judges 3:16, we read of Ehud, who was a leader in Israel. He took a "present" to Eglon, the King of Moab. While delivering this present, Ehud killed the Moabite leader and returned to tell his armies to attack.

It is interesting to note that we currently have an Ehud in charge of Israel's Defence.
Also of note is the Moab (Mother Of All Bombs) which was first tested at Eglin Air Force base.

Moving on to Judges 4:4, we see a female in Israeli politics.
This woman is called upon to go to war, So she calls a man named Barak to assist.
Barak says he will not go to war for Israel alone, but that they will have to help.
In verse 9, she tells Barak that this is not for his own honor.
Barak then pursues the enemy which has "Chariots of Iron", and they flee.

In Israel, we now have Tzipi Livni, currently foreign minister, and in the U.S. we happen to have a Barak. We also have Ehud Barak in Israel.

Now in Judges 5:6 it says that the highways were unoccupied, and the travelers walked wherever they went.

Chapter 5 deserves much more study, and I will try to get to that later.

Moving on to chapters 6 and 7, there is one more war in the valley of Jezreel (Megiddo).

I believe what we see in these verses is either the war of Psalm 83, or the Magog war, which is followed by the gathering for Armageddon.

It seems as if the time is getting closer!

The Gate of God

What is the Gate of God?
Thou hast become “yĕshuw`ah”. Jesus is the gate!

Psa 118:22 The stone [which] the builders refused is become the head [stone] of the corner. (Matthew 21:42 Mark 12:10 Luke 20:17)

The head stone (or cap stone) of the pyramids and ziggurats were places of worship…for entering in.

Jhn 10:1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. Jhn 10:7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.

Door – “thyra” – a folding door which you rush in.

Rev 3:20Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Mat 25:10And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

Gen 28:17And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful [is] this place! this [is] none other but the house of God, and this [is] the gate of heaven.

Isa 22:22And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.

Rev 3:7And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth; Rev 3:8I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. Rev 3:10Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

Rev 4:1After this I looked, and, behold, a door [was] opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard [was] as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. Rev 4:2And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and [one] sat on the throne.

So there are gates (Hebrew) or Doors (Greek) to enter into the spiritual realm, and you must have a key to enter.

Mat 16:19And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Where is it mentioned that people entered these gates?
Psalm 118:22 – Jesus (the door) is the HEAD or top stone.
Genesis 11:8 – The tower of Bab-el was not completed. The HEAD stone was not complete.
In Exodus 19 and Exodus 34, Moses entered from the top of Mount Sinai in Arabia.
In Matthew 17 Jesus, Peter, James & John entered from the top of a mountain.
In every instance, there is a SOUND involved. A trumpet, thunder, a voice.
In Leviticus 1:1 God called out to Moses in the tent (or tabernacle). Psalm 29:4-5 says the Lords voice is so powerful it breaks cedars, but the people outside the tent never heard God’s voice!

In first Samuel 15:22 King Saul could not hear what God was saying and it cost him his kingship.

Isa 30:32And [in] every place where the grounded staff shall pass, which the LORD shall lay upon him, [it] shall be with tabrets and harps: and in battles of shaking will he fight with it.

1Sa 10:5After that thou shalt come to the hill of God, where [is] the garrison of the Philistines: and it shall come to pass, when thou art come thither to the city, that thou shalt meet a company of prophets coming down from the high place with a psaltery, and a tabret, and a pipe, and a harp, before them; and they shall prophesy: 1Sa 10:6And the Spirit of the LORD will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man.

Jos 6:20So the people shouted when [the priests] blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.

1Ki 1:40And all the people came up after him, and the people piped with pipes, and rejoiced with great joy, so that the earth rent with the sound of them.

Psa 47:5God is gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.

1Th 4:16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Gen 28:12 And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it. (KJV)

John 1:47-51 47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!

THE SON OF MAN IS THE LADDER of Gen 28:12.

The top of the ladder is in the Heavenlies and the BOTTOM is in your SPIRIT!

You have the RIGHT to fellowship with the Father and the Son outside of time and space - you also are desired by the Father and the Son to PARTICIPATE.

John 7:34 - Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come.
He did not say where I AM GOING TO BE or where I AM GOING - but where I AM!
In Eden, the garden of God, The dimension of Heaven co-existed with the earth realm. Multiple dimensions occupying the same space! That’s why Adam walked and talked with God. There was no separation. After the fall, the gate was closed. However, in 1st Corinthians 3:9 it says we are God’s husbandry. Meaning the Garden is now in us! Verse 16 says we are the temple of God and the Spirit of God dwells in us. God, that measured the universe in the span of His hand…outside of space and time can fit in us.
In Mark 15:38 the veil was torn. What veil? The veil that was placed between our dimension and the dimension that lies outside of space and time. We can now enter through that veil (Christ is the veil, the gate, the door, and the ladder).
Our physical bodies cannot enter that dimension, but our spirits can!
All throughout the new testament, it refers to this “entering in” as the “mystery”.

In Ephesians 3:3 Paul begins to explain what this “mystery” is. He says it was revealed to him. He is talking about on the Damascus road when that door was opened and he saw into the spiritual realm.
Verse 12 says we have boldness and ACCESS to God through our faith in Christ.

Hebrews 4:16 says we can come boldly to the throne of grace in our time of need.
In verse 18 Paul tells us that he wants us to understand what is the breadth, length, depth, and height…these are all dimensions! He is telling us that we are to understand that we can enter that other dimension. (Notice there are four dimensions mentioned here)

Revelation 10:6 says there is coming a point in the future when there will be no more time. When is this? Verse 7 says “But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.”

The MYSTERY of God is finished! Meaning when the dimension of Heaven and the Dimension of Earth once again co-exist, there will be no more time.

In Colossians 1:27 Paul explains exactly what this “mystery” is. He says it is “Christ in you, the hope of glory”.
Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. Luke 17:21

Just as there are gates to enter God’s presence, there are also gates that lead to Hell. These gates also require a key to open.
Mat 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Rev 1:18 I [am] he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

Ancient Sumerian even talks about these gateways that lead to the spiritual realm.
Their "gods of old" are recorded as arriving here through a watery gateway called the "Abzu", which is where we get the English word "Abyss".

I look forward to the day we all enter the "Thyra" or Rush in that folding door.
Just like Second Samuel 22:10 and Psalm 18:9, where God bowed the fabric of space and time and that door is opened between our two dimensions!

Tithing

What is the origin of tithing and what types are there in the Old Testament? There were four types of valid tithing in the Old Testament.

Firstly, the tithe to the Levites
Num 18:20: And the LORD spake unto Aaron, Thou shalt have no inheritance in their land, neither shalt thou have any part among them : I am thy part and thine inheritance among the children of Israel.

All the tribes of Israel who were the descendents of Abraham were allotted land. The descendants of Aaron, the tribe of Levi was not to receive land because they were to fulfill certain duties. This was a service unto God, which included a service to others. It was a type of governmental function. They were put in charge of health services (Lev. 13 + 14 & Mark 1:44). They were also in charge of applying the laws (policing & judicial) and to see to the education of the people. Every Jew had to be able to read, because they had to know the Torah by heart.
They were thus responsible for a combination of social and religious services to the community.

The tithe towards the Levites could be seen as a type of tax. The tithe the community gave to the Levites, were to be used for the upkeep of the social and religious structure of the community.

Deut 14:27: And the Levite that is within thy gates; thou shalt not forsake him; for he hath neither part nor inheritance with thee. This is a reminder not to forget the first tithe to the Levites.
So the first type of tithing is the people tithing, to the Levites.

Secondly, the tithe to the Priests
Neh 10:38: And the priest the son of Aaron shall be with the Levites, when the Levites take tithes: and the Levites shall bring up the tithe of the tithes unto the house of our God, to the chambers, into the treasure house.

This was a tithe paid by the Levites to the priests who were in charge of the temple duties. It was the Levites who brought the tithe of the tithe they received from the people, to the treasure house. Look carefully at this Scripture, it is A TITHE OF THE THITHES FROM the Levites.

All priests were Levites, but not all Levites were priests. The Kohen (pronounced ko-hane) or priests were specific descendants of Aaron and were also known as Zadokites. They were specific to Temple duties.

So the people paid a tithe to the Levites and the Levites then, had to take from all the tithes, a tithe and pay the Zadokites or the Kohen who did temple service. This is the second type of tithing, in the Old Testament.

The Third type of tithing was towards the annual Holy Days.
Deut 14:22: Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed that the field bringeth forth year by year.

Deut 14:23: And thou shalt eat before the LORD thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the LORD thy God always.

Deut 14:24: And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from thee, which the LORD thy God shall choose to set his name there, when the LORD thy God hath blessed thee:

Deut 14:25: Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose:

Deut 14:26: And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household.

The people were required to gather 3 times a year for Holy Festival Days.
• Hag Pesach (Passover)
• Hag Shavuot (Pentecost)
• Hag Sukkoth (Tabernacle)

When God has become work and not rest, you should realize that you are involved in works and not the Sabbath rest.

The fourth tithe, is to the less fortunate.
Deut 14:28: At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates:
Deut 14:29: And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest.

This tithe was for the elderly, the less fortunate and the orphans. A special saving had to be made for them.
To sum up the tithe

All three tithes added up to about 23.3 % of your blessing.
The people were responsible for tithing towards:

• The Levites
• The 3 annual Holy Days
• The less fortunate.

The Levites had to tithe towards:
• The Zadokites or Temple priests

Over all, the tithe was to be a tenth part of your harvest that was brought into the STORE house so there would be FOOD in the house of God for His people.
Mal 3:10
Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house

In your times of abundance, it helped those that were in need. If you went through a time of lack, there was plenty for you at that time as well.

The church provided all the medical, judicial, and educational needs of the community!
No one had to pay for hospital visits, no one had to pay court costs, There was no department of education, or college tuition.

The tithe was so that whenever you needed ANYTHING, you could go to the church and it would be provided.

Notice in Deut. 14:

Deut 14:22-23
22 "You must set aside a tithe of your crops—one-tenth of all the crops you harvest each year. 23 Bring this tithe to the designated place of worship—the place the LORD your God chooses for his name to be honored—and eat it there in his presence.

You were to bring your tithe – then YOU were to eat the tithe. You didn’t give it to someone else, it was YOUR tithe to use for yourself!
If all you did was raise chickens, you could take your tithe, and trade with someone who brought potatoes, or corn. It was yours to do with as you needed.
What was considered a tithe?

Deut 14:23
This applies to your tithes of grain, new wine, olive oil, and the firstborn males of your flocks and herds.

It wasn’t money. However:
Deut 14:24-27
24 "Now when the LORD your God blesses you with a good harvest, the place of worship he chooses for his name to be honored might be too far for you to bring the tithe. 25 If so, you may sell the tithe portion of your crops and herds, put the money in a pouch, and go to the place the LORD your God has chosen. 26 When you arrive, you may use the money to buy any kind of food you want—cattle, sheep, goats, wine, or other alcoholic drink. Then feast there in the presence of the LORD your God and celebrate with your household.

Notice that if you couldn’t take food, you could take money as your tithe.
Then YOU use the money to BUY whatever you needed in the STOREhouse!
This was all under the LAW. Christ has redeemed us from the CURSE of the law.
We were never supposed to follow the law to begin with.
The law was given to Israel only, not the Gentiles.
You can find this in Exodus 19:3, Leviticus 26:46, Romans 3:19, Romans 9:4, Romans 6:14.

In Galatians 1:1-9, Paul tells them that he taught the gospel of GRACE, and when he left, the Jewish leaders taught them they had to follow the law.
He called it another gospel, and those that follow the law are cursed. The Gentiles never followed the law and never knew the law, but once salvation was offered, the religious leaders told them they had to follow the old law.

Some argue that Abraham instituted the tithe prior to the law and was blessed because he tithed. That is not what scripture teaches.
The law was instituted 430 years after Abraham died. He was blessed by faith in God – not by keeping the law. We receive the blessings of Abraham by faith through grace, not by keeping the law.

Gen 13:2
2 And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.

Gen 14:18-23
18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.
19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:
20 And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.
21 And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself.
22 And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth,
23 That I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich:

In Genesis 13, Abraham was already rich (in cattle, in silver, and in gold)

Then in chapter 14, Abraham gives a tenth of his spoils of war to Melchizedek.
Notice it wasn’t even a tithe from HIS income, it was a tithe of what he took away from other people as spoils of war.
He wants to make sure in verse 23 that it is understood that he was already rich.
It also never mentions that he gave a tenth part more than this single time.

Gen 28:20-22
20 Then Jacob made this vow: "If God will indeed be with me and protect me on this journey, and if he will provide me with food and clothing, 21 and if I return safely to my father's home, then the LORD will certainly be my God. 22 And this memorial pillar I have set up will become a place for worshiping God, and I will present to God a tenth of everything he gives me."

Jacob didn’t vow to pay tithes so the Lord would provide for him.
He said if God will protect him and provide all his needs, THEN he will present to God a tenth of what he has given him.

Now lets move out of the Old Testament into the New Covenant.

2 Cor 8:12-14
12 Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. And give according to what you have, not what you don't have. 13 Of course, I don't mean your giving should make life easy for others and hard for yourselves. I only mean that there should be some equality. 14 Right now you have plenty and can help those who are in need. Later, they will have plenty and can share with you when you need it.

It says we should give according to what we HAVE, not what we don’t have, and whatever it is that we give is acceptable. It also says that your giving shouldn’t make life hard on you.

2 Cor 9:7-9
7 You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don't give reluctantly or in response to pressure. "For God loves a person who gives cheerfully."* 8 And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.

We are not to give out of pressure from anyone or because of any law.
We are only to give out of LOVE, and because we WANT to give.

Gal 3:10
10 All who rely on observing the law are under a curse,
If we tithe because of the law, we are under a curse.
THAT is why so many in the church today are giving themselves broke.
They remove themselves from the grace that Christ provided, and place themselves back under the curse!

Giving out of compulsion and in hopes of improving your situation is a WORK.
We are not justified by works, but by FAITH. It is by FAITH that we receive the blessings of Abraham, not by works. When you are giving because of a law, you are bound to a system, and your focus is going to be on that system instead of God.

The tithe could only come from the land of Israel, and the tithe was never money.
Fishermen couldn’t tithe, because their harvest didn’t come from the land.
You can NOT give because of the law. That is sowing in the flesh. The flesh is made of the earth. Whatever is sown in the flesh will reap corruption.
If you give out of pressure, you will reap pressure. If you give out of lust or greed, you will reap lust and greed.

Although we are not under the Law, wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could go back to the way society was set up at that time?
No government taxes. 23% of your income went to the church, and the church provided free education, free health care, free food, and for any area where you may have experienced lack.

Of course we should give. The bible does not teach giving because of God’s need, or because it’s a law that must be kept.
It teaches that we are to give out of love and God will meet our every need.
There are some ministries that have missed the mark and have gotten too centered on giving.
Although giving is necessary, it is not to be the primary focus. The same thing was going on over 2000 years ago:

Mic 3:11
11 You rulers make decisions based on bribes;
you priests teach God's laws only for a price;
you prophets won't prophesy unless you are paid.
Yet all of you claim to depend on the LORD.

Ezek 34:1-5
34 Then this message came to me from the LORD: 2 "Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds, the leaders of Israel. Give them this message from the Sovereign LORD: What sorrow awaits you shepherds who feed yourselves instead of your flocks. Shouldn't shepherds feed their sheep? 3 You drink the milk, wear the wool, and butcher the best animals, but you let your flocks starve. 4 You have not taken care of the weak. You have not tended the sick or bound up the injured. You have not gone looking for those who have wandered away and are lost. Instead, you have ruled them with harshness and cruelty.

The God of Appointed Seasons

[Acts 1:6] So when they had come together, they asked him, "Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?"

[Acts 1:7] He said to them, "It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has fixed by his own authority.

Who was Jesus speaking to? The Disciples who were asking WHEN He would return... EXPECTING Him to return in THEIR lifetimes! Jesus wasnt talking to US in the 21st century, He was SPECIFICALLY talking to the Disciples right then and there who had an expectation the 2nd coming would be in THEIR lifetimes.

The Almighty is a God of appointed times, and date setting.

[Gen 18:14] Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.

[Exod 9:5] And the LORD appointed a set time, saying, To morrow the LORD shall do this thing in the land.

[Exod 23:15] Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty:)

So tell me... WHY would God appoint EVERYTHING throughout ALL of history... Old and New Testament if the LAST thing was NOT to be a known appointed time as well?

And in fact, over and over and over, scripture says that we would know WHEN those appointed times would take place.

[Mark 13:23] But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.

[Luke 8:17] For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.

[Mark 4:22] For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.

[1John 2:20] But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.

[1John 2:27] But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
